Had it on tap at the brewery. An excellently balanced ale - not so weak that you wouldn’t want to drink it, but not so overbearing that it wears on you. Recommended for those that might want an "introductory Rye".

Bierkraft growler. Poured ruddy copper with a dense cream colored head. Aroma actually very reminiscent of rye bread--carroway seeds and all. Some sweet malt notes and earthiness in the nose as well. Flavor marked by a spicy and tangy rye character. Delicately sweet malts, nicely balanced by citrusy, piney and minty hops. Chewy and grainy full body. Solid rye ale.

On tap at the brewpub. Copper in color with a small to medium retaining head. Aroma has a good amount of rye, some pale and crystal malt sweetness, a touch of citrus. Taste has spicy rye in the forefront with some pale and toasted malts- lightly caramelized, with some floral/citrus hop character. Well attenuated and dry, with a mild to moderate hop bitterness in the finish as well as some lingering rye and grain. this was pretty interesting- grew on me as I was drinking it.

Tap at Barcade. Very grainy, rye, chocolate, kind of ass aroma. Is that an appropriate descriptor? Flavor is a typical grainy brew, poppy, wheat, spicy rye. Easy drinking, with a dull, prickly carbonation.
