COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A medium bodied ale with the perfect balance between malt and domestic hop flavors and aromas. The use of "crystal malt" in the brewing process imparts a rich caramel flavor. The pitching of American ale yeast to this classic style gives our Red Ale a light fruitiness.

Amber-bodied, silken head. Not much aroma. Cereal grain taste with some crystal malt flashes. Rather insipid on the whole. Flat malting and hopping. A fleck of grain. Undercarbonated. Not bad tasting, just largely lacking in flavor.

An orange amber ale with a lacing thin light mocha head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt wit fruity esters, decent. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with light herbal nuts, nice and smooth, quite quaffable. On tap at Barcade Dec. 30 2011.

From a pitcher at the brewery, 17/12/11. Burnt orange under a dissipating white foam. Apricot on digestives aroma. Soft fruit, husky malt. Bit more backbone than the Checker Cab. A little earthy. Decent.

On tap at Chelsea Brewing Co on 28th July 2011. Hazy copper with offwhite ring-and-film head and no lacing. Malty, sweet caramel aroma. Citric lemon, lactic sourness and sweetcorn in-mouth, followed by a short-lived finish of malt, sweetcorn and mild citrus. Smooth, soft mouthfeel.

Poured from a growler, this had a malt flavor with a hop finish. Floral hops were also present in the aroma.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is roasted malty and slight hops fruity. Mild breadish and bitter to dark roasted malty. Bitter and dry malty finish. Dry malty finish.

Growler filled at Big Z and consumed later on the same day. Pours a hazy golden brown with a large off-white head that lasted until mid-glass and left ample lace. Pleasant aroma of malt and bread with a bit of yeast in the nose as well. The flavor begins with malt that fades and gives way to a mostly flavorless moderate-strong hops bitterness that borders on being astringent (if that is the right word). A bit harsh on the palate. Light-medium bodied. Not something I would look to revisit.

Draft. Pours an orange amber body with a mostly white head and thin lacing. Sweet malty aroma, caramel malts, bread tones. A hint of bitter hop tones, light citrus like fruit but rather bland still. Stale bread with a bitter end. Okay.

Draught, 5.0% at the brewpub. Mild fruity aroma. Cloudy amber colour. Earthy flavour, hint of OK grain.

Casked from waterfont manhattan. Poured a standard amber, tasted like it with caramel and some hops.
