4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 cheapdark (2960) - Quiptown & Central Valley, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 14, 2007
UPDATED: JUL 11, 2008 On tap at the Bocktown bar in the Robinson twp shopping complex. I was very surprised to find it there. This stuff pours darkish red like fruity champagne. It has a light pink head that diminishes to a light pink froth. The aroma could be smelled from clear across the bar upon opening of the tap. As the glass was brought to me I could easily smell sweet berry cotton candy. The berry aroma is so pleasant! Tho the appearance is different, it smells alot like lindimans framboise. The first flavor impact is very pleasing, I really like this stuff. It is sweet, fruity and pleasant. This has got to be one of the better tasting beers I have ever tasted, how can this be rated as a beer? It is so nice, it lacks any of the negatives of the typical beer. I can’t taste any bitterness in there what so ever. This may not be quite as good as lindemans framboise but it is excellent none the less. Finish does not have any bitterness at all, none detected! Good, nice, repeatable and enjjoyable. I rarely drink another after a tasting session but I had to have another of these. Good thing this stuff is expensive or I’d be drinken it all the time.

Top-notch fruit beer....perhaps distinguishable from other lambic raspberries by a bit thinner palate and a bit less velvety mouthfeel, but i had to ponder and re-sip to find that distinction...
4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 crossovert (2780) - Wisconsin, USA - FEB 21, 2011
Very unentertaining bottle, but I bought it because it was cheap and form a reputable brewery. 8.4 oz bottle.
Pours into my champagne flute a murky pinkish red with hints of brown and a foamy lightly pink head.
Smell is of raspberry, a pinch of funk and malt, similar to New Glarus Raspberry Tart but with a slight funk.
The taste is also similar to Rasberry Tart, though not quite as flavorful. It tastes like tart raspberry candy which is always welcome in a fruit lambic style.
The mouthfeel is nice, the drinkability is through the roof, moreso than Raspberry Tart.

Slightly lighter and less carbonated than other lambics. Nose and taste of sour raspberry and other fruits. Rated 1/14/03

A terrific raspberry lambic that’s not quite on par with Lindeman’s but beats all the others. Fairly sweet and deserves more credit than it’s getting so far.

Faint rasp aroma, clear ruby red color. Poured with a good head that lasted for some time, very effervesent. Good rasp flavor with a nice clean tart finish. The balance is good, tart but not to sour as some lambics I have had. I have to disagree with most ratings here and find this to be an excellent framboise.

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2006 8.4 Fl. oz bottle. Low carbonation, no head. Very dry. Sour taste that I like (really sour) You can taste the raspberry in there. Almost clear. My Girlfriend didn’t like it but I did.

More amber than red, but sure smells nice. I only have Lindemans to compare this to, but this is much more mild and far less pretty, but still a solid brew.

8.4 ounce bottle. Served in a tulip, the beer pours a reddish/purple color with about an inch light pink head. Head retention is decent, and there’s a lot of lacing left on the glass. Aroma is all sweet raspberries and candy sugar. Taste is the same as the aroma, it’s mostly sugary sweet raspberries. A little bit of tartness comes out once the beer warms up some, but for the most part it’s a mostly sweet fruity brew. Since I love sweet raspberries, that’s a very good thing. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it’s a little syrupy and has decent carbonation. Drinkability is good too, pretty easy to drink. I’d buy this again!

Big red pour with a pink head. Aroma is raspberry and candy sugar with some light vinegar notes. Flavor is again raspberry with light vinegar, funk, yeast, winey sourness and a dose of barley malt. High carbonation keeps sweetness at bay but it is very sweet. This beer needs to be drank at cellar temps because when it is too cold it just loses all character except fruity sweetness.
