Cask Conditioned at Reading BF 2006. Copper coloured. Malty and very hoppy bitter. Slightly fruity and a flowery hop aftertaste.

Cask @ St Albans 05: Nice ruby with a beige head. Malty caramel nose. Bit bland, roast and caramel but drinkable.

Cask@St Albans Beer Festival. Sweetish flat, toasty crystal malt type character. Caramelly, some raisin, lemony finish. Not quite all there for me.

Cask (gravity dispense), St Albans Beer Festival 2005. Chestnut brown colour - rather dark for a bitter. Caramel, dark malt and nuts, with some decent balalncing hop bitterness. An unusual best bitter - full bodied and very tasty. Showed very well despite imperfect condition.

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - St Albans BF - A mid brown beer with a fruity malty raisin aroma but also a little sulphur. The taste has fruity malts but again is tainted, like so many beers at this festival by a little fartiness. Shame as Cheriton is top.

Cask (gravity dispense), St Albans Beer Festival 2005. Another cracker from this top brewery. Reddish brown colour with good malt/hop balance. Bit of choc and good hop flavours. Superb. Really nice flavours throughout and excellent dry hoppy finish. Gorgeous.

Chappel Fest. The Flower Pot was closed for lunch when we went there, which left us in the lurch a bit. So I was pleased to pick this up at Chappel. It’s a toffee drenched best bitter with some balancing bitterness. Probably better at the brewpub.

Apr 06 Gravity Cask @ The Flower Pots Inn, Cheriton. Whilst drinking this the casks from the brewhouse were being stacked outside ready for taking away to their new home. A light bodied bitter with dark malt flavours and a good hoppy finish. Works quite well. 3.7
Mar 04 Cask conditioned @ Flower Pots. Dark dried fruit and malty aromas. Toffee flavours and bitter finish. Quite flavoursome and full bodied for its strength. 3.6
