Coconut porter is a thing that works. This isn’t as good as Springslicker’s home brew coconut porter, but it’s good.

Mellow toasted, sweetish coconut aroma. Properly dark. Sweet, smooth, lots of character, light roast. Enjoyable, fun. On tap, at the brewery.

Cloudy in appearance. Slightly sweet with an okay mouthfeel. Malt is very pronounced. Nice flavors and very nice beer. Improve appearance and home run for abv.

On Tap at TAP Atlanta. Oh sure, when you are sitting outside in 90 degree weather may not be the best time to drink a porter, even a coconut one. But I suppose I couldn’t resist. Smells like a Mounds bar, with plenty of dark chocolate and coconut. Pretty much how it tasted, as well, plus some red wine notes. Pretty tasty brew...

On tap at The Pig & the Pint in Atlanta. Dark brown with almost no head. Roasted malt aroma and taste with dark chocolate and nicely subtle coconut and vanilla. Soft and smooth and delicious.

Pours midnight brown with no head. Aroma is mainly chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor is silky smooth with a slight alcohol burn. Mainly malt with some dark fruits and smoked nuttiness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Good beer. The coconut was not overwhelming, nicely done, making for an overall drinkable beer that I would gladly (yes, gladly) get again. This and the Whispering Wit were the best of the Cherry Street brews, for me.

Black with a medium tan head. Aroma is toasted coconut with a bit of vanilla and chocolate. Flavor is roasted malt, a little bit of sweetness and toasted coconut. Coconut is pleasant, but not overpowering. Quite tasty. Wife: 4

Appearance: Very dark brown, near black body with a lasting, light khaki-colored head.

Smell: A note of the toasted coconut utilized quickly pops out, followed by the more subtle and subdued roast, chocolate, and coffee.

Taste: Roasty maltiness wrapped in toasted coconut -- mocha, chocolate. Medium sweetness. Meager earthiness underneath. Minimal hop character, bitterness. Drying, roasty with very, very mild, lingering bitterness, like unsweetened almond milk.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: A nice concoction that elevated the base Sawnee Mountain Porter.

On tap from the brewer at the 2014 HSS Beerfest. There’s a load of coconut and a bit of vanilla in this beer, giving it a very enticing aroma but leaving it with a flavor that is a touch too sweet (excepting as a dessert beer) and too dominated by coconut {but I love coconut}. Still, a very tasty and easy to drink beer, and a big beer for such a moderate ABV. Clear dark brown with .sticky patches of lacing.
