Cask conditioned at The Woolpack, Banbury beer Fest ’08. Brown to amber with white head. Mixed reaction to this in the pub, i found it to have quite a salty chemical taste, with a tannin type dryness. Plenty of alcohol showing through without having to use sweetness to get it. A tricky one.

Bottle at home ... From my Fin Trip haul ... copper brown ... thin lacing ... sweet toffee malt nose ... again sweet fruits ... little toffee ... little oxidisation ... little honey ... little oily ... ok

Bottle from SH Jones, Bicester, Oxon, 02-01-10 Pours murky chestnut brown with a quickly fading light beige head. Touch flat in the mouth, there is caramel, fruit and some raw dark sugar that doesn’t seem particularly well integrated into this beer. Its fine enough and a better beer than the Rogue Hazlenut I had before but even this is a tad rough around the edges. A5 A3 F6 P3 Ov11 2.8

Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - Milton Keynes BF A slightly murky amber coloured beer. A sickly sweet fruity rice pudding aroma. The taste is sweet, sickly and plasticy. Hints of make up in the mouth. Pretty ghastly

Cask, gravity, at Milton Keynes BF ’08. Copper colour. Strawberry flavour Muller Rice (a proprietory German rice pudding dessert) aroma. Complex taste that blends together sweetness, sourness and plastic to create an odd and really rather horrible effect.
