Commercial Description:
An opaque black, toasty, yet malty ale, brewed in the European style - fuller bodied, and stronger, with rich flavors of coffee and caramel.

On tap at the Cheshire Cat Brew Pub. Poured a dark brown color with red edges and a small sized off white head. Aromas of roast and light chocolate. Tastes of chocolate, roast, light vanilla, and a little smokey. Thinner for a stout.

On cask @ Cheshire Cat poured a opaque black with a lasting creamy brown head. Aromas of roasted malt, bitter chocolate and a hint of coffee. Palate was medium bodied, creamy and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, bakers chocolate, and a hint of coffee with a smooth, bitter finish.

17-Dec-05 draft at the brewery... ...Roasty, coffee aromas... ....Black, no head... ...Roasty flavors, some grainy bitterness... ...smooth, but watery... ...light and drinkable, decent, not great

Dark black with a creamy brown head. Roasty with a big smoky note. Medium bitterness seems to balance it out somewhat. One of the better Cheshires I've had.
