Bottle: Nose is smoke, treacle, brown sugar touch of espresso at the base. Taste follows the nose with smoke, leading to dates, a little cocoa and dark fruits. The mouthfeel is too thin. It’s a reasonable stout that verges on the porter in places.

Cask at the Ship & Mitre - Liverpool. Pours clear, rich brown with a tight, creamy beige head. Nice roasted malt nose with accents of coffee and milk chocolate. Light sweet flavor with ashy roast, charred meat, mild earthy bitterness, cocoa, dark read. Light bodied with fine, caressing carbonation. Pretty well balanced to finish with more ash, burnt toast, baking cocoa, dried blackberry. Nice little stout.

Pours a black colour, taste is of roast malts with quite a thin mouth feel, not a bad stout and very drinkable

Cask conditioned at The Pied Bull, Chester. Black with cream head. Darkly roasted malt flavours to the fore, bitter chocolate, some coffee, bitter and nicely dry. A very decent stout.
