Cheshire Stout
Brewed with Pure Cheshire Water, English Pale, Crystal, Chocolate, Malts Wheat, Flaked & Roasted Barley, hopped with British Target Hops, Lindow is a Lighter take on Irish stout, very complex with hints of dark chocolate & espresso balanced with dried vine fruits, a luscious stout. Lindow – “The Black Lake” – Cheshire Stout.

Bottle: Nose is smoke, treacle, brown sugar touch of espresso at the base. Taste follows the nose with smoke, leading to dates, a little cocoa and dark fruits. The mouthfeel is too thin. It’s a reasonable stout that verges on the porter in places.

17th July 2016. Cask pint in The Crown Inn, Oakengates Shropshire. Black bodied with a full and lasting creamy textured head. Aroma had roasted/toasted malts and liquorice with a little dark chocolate. The taste was also malty with, liquorice and dark chocolate, some hedgerow fruits in the flavour too. Decent.

500ml bottle from corks out Heswall. Black colour with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and caramel. The taste is mid bitter, and has liquorice. Ok.

UPDATED: JUL 24, 2016 Cask at The Earl Grey Inn, Leek. A deep brown colour with a thin beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, milk chocolate, some caramel, slight liquorice and subtle brown sugar. Taste of roasted malts, chocolate, some caramel, slight liquorice and subtle blackberry. Light bodied and soft carbonation. A dry, slightly fruity, chocolatey bitterness in the finish. A nice, chocolatey and subtlely fruity stout.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a bubbly off white head. The aroma is smoky roasted malt, light caramel. The flavour is medium to light bitter with a dry earthy mineral malt bitter light smoky liqourice palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at the Ship & Mitre - Liverpool. Pours clear, rich brown with a tight, creamy beige head. Nice roasted malt nose with accents of coffee and milk chocolate. Light sweet flavor with ashy roast, charred meat, mild earthy bitterness, cocoa, dark read. Light bodied with fine, caressing carbonation. Pretty well balanced to finish with more ash, burnt toast, baking cocoa, dried blackberry. Nice little stout.

Pours a black colour, taste is of roast malts with quite a thin mouth feel, not a bad stout and very drinkable
