3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 mabel (4405) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 12, 2011
[3979-20110922] Tap. Sweaty saison yeast aroma. Slightly hazy, amber orange body with a quick foamy off-white head. More saison yeast in the flavour has a light bitterness. Medium body. Good, simple. (6/3/7/3/12+) 3.1
(Black Oak Tap Takeover, TBW 2011 @ Volo, Toronto, ON)

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 blankboy (4437) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 26, 2011
Draught at "Black Oak Tap Takeover" at Volo. Pours a hazy deep auburn with a small diminishing white head. Lovely aroma of lightly funky yeast, herbs & spices, light perfumy notes and some fruit. Flavour’s the same, slightly funky yeast and perfume along with herbs & spices, fruit and a light bitter finish. Medium bodied. A great take on the style, well done!
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Sammy (6119) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 23, 2011
On tap at Bar Volo takeover by Black Oak. Saison yeast aroma is strong. Cloudy yellow coloured body with an eighth-inch of retained head. Good drinkability, above average mouthfeel. Spicyness from the berries more significant than the pepper. Other than that, true to the style.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 jerc (5588) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 23, 2011
2011-09-23. hazy dark amber-orange body with a small beige head. 3+ Flavour is interesting, bit of saison funk, mild bitterness throughout, sort of fruity accents - Sumac or saison yeast? Bit of both? 7+ Aroma is mild, tart funky saison notes, lightly fruity, some fruity nuances that I can not put my finger on. 7+ Smooth average plus bodied palate, has modest carbonation. 3+ Nice, gains more of a tree like character as it warms up. Much more funk and nuance than the cask sample. 7+/3+/8/3+/16+ On tap at Black Oak Tap Takeover, Volo
2011-09-16. Hazy dark orange, tiny beige head. 3+ Flavour is muddled but pleasant, mildly fruity throughout, muted wood accents maybe? 6+ Aroma is similar, muted wood accents, mild fruit and citrus. 6+ Average plus bodied palate. Bit muddled, but I like it. 6/3/7/3/13+ Wooden Cask, Barrel Bragging Rights #5, Cheshire Valley and Jordan St. John, Monk’s Table, Toronto
