750ml Bottle. Pours brown with little to no head. pleasing subtle hit of spices and cinnamon. A little bit too tart for what i was expecting, but drinkable and enjoyable.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 mkel07 (1806) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - SEP 23, 2011
750ml bottle. Pour a dark brown almost copper red colour with a skinny tan foam edging the glass. Spiced fruit in the aroma and a strong almost port like flavour that hits all parts of the mouth and hangs around on the palate. Good strong body and would go well with a cigar.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Davros (1021) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - SEP 14, 2011
Pours brown without much of a head.
Nose shows nutty malt, caramel and some light fruit. Not particularly expressive.
Flavours include loads of malt with caramel, bready and toasty character along with some soft spices and a fair whack of booze.
Carbonation is pretty low.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 hawthorne00 (1435) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUN 18, 2011
Bottle, 11C. Dull copper with a coat of light beige head. Aroma of sherry, nutmeg, cinnamon, cherry vinegar. Taste has light fruit sweetness with some aged caramel and chocolate, big woody spices. Cinnamon, nutmeg and aniseed quite prominent and not all that well integrated. Finish is mildly astringent with spices. The flavours are OK but somehow don’t come together.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 ndon (857) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 9, 2011
On tap at the Local Taphouse, Sydney. Pours a deep copper colour, with a medium dense beige head. Aromas of sweet caramel, biscuit, cinnamon and a herb i couldn’t put my finger on. The flavours that popped to me were tart apples, cinnamon, bread, toffee and was slightly sour. Quite a thick and oily mouthfeel.

Chewy caramel with warming spices. This was had on tap at the Wheatsheaf in Thebarton through a Randall full of Tasmanian blueberries.

Bottle at the Where the Wild Beers Are event graciously hosted by Mission Dolores. Pours a hazy brown with a thin white head. Lightly boozy. Sweet at the start, caramel and chewy malt. Dries out on the finish, with light yeast and warming alcohol on the end.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Stew41 (1457) - Woodend, AUSTRALIA - AUG 28, 2010
I’ve given this beer too many chances. Whilst it shows the base elements of BdG (spice and cinnamon) there’s too much piney hops and metals for this beer to actually be enjoyable. Seems faulty.
3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 Jade (311) - AUSTRALIA - JUL 16, 2010
Dark brown, cloudy with a biege head. Aroma is very faint and almost undetectable. Very bitter taste of caramel and fruit. Lovely warming sensation, especially in the lingering after taste.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Samma (57) - AUSTRALIA - JUN 15, 2010
On tap at Brewery. This is a surprisingly easy supper. Somewhat acidic overtones give way to a sweet, full- mouthed, low-carbonated gem. Am waiting to now taste the six I bought in bottles.
