Bottle. Muddy brown appearance and poured with a small head. Slightly sulphuric and a bit on the sour side.Dont really think that this is a Biere de Garde. If it is its a poor example of the style.

Pours nice deep brown with one finger head. Aroma is sweet malts with funk similar to a saison. Taste is sweet malt, yeast, some spice, dry finish with a light bitterness. Not overly complex but very enjoyable nonetheless. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear deep ruby color, small beige head. Aroma has some cellary notes, ginger, cinnamon, lots of berries (red currant). Medium-bodied. Very berryish, red currant and caramel. Feels Danish, not French!

Hazy brown to yellow looks, with delicate head. Stingy zesty fruits and something else I can’t specify from the aroma. Taste has yeast, zesty fruits, some berries. Medium body and high carbonation. Interesting beer but I think I need to try this again to fully understand all the flavors in it.

750ml bottle (Hilpea Hauki, Helsinki)
Slightly toffeeish aroma. Touch fizzy palate, almost watery. Dark roast, but the roast isn’t to the fore at all. No sign of the alcohol at all, but deep down, this beer isn’t doing it for me. Some toffee, some yeast, some snores.Do like the bitter bite in the inish, but it doesn’t cancel the fizziness of the carbonation. A touch yeasty. Unsatisfying. However, with the yeast it’s smoother. But still unsatisfying.

(Bottle, 0.75 l, at Hilpeä Hauki, 20131001) The beer poured reddish brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and almost white. Aroma had caramell, malts and mildly Belgian style yeast. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, caramell, Belgian style yeast, mildly earth and low bitterness. Afteraste was malty and bitter. Not a beer that I woudl categorise and a Bière de Garde but an easy one to drink.

Yuk! I was not impressed with this, no really substance or flavour. Will avoid this.

Bottle. Thanks to Mads T. BB May 2013. Pours dark ruby amber with a small white head. Nose is very malty. Rich toffee, caramel and bread. Some dark fruit. Smooth and full bodied. Delicious and complex Biere De Garde. One of the nicer ones ive had.

larsga (5962) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 13, 2013
Medium beige head. Hazy deep brown body with carbonation and visible particles. Funky earthy roasty aroma with licorice and spice notes. Dry-acidic earthy wooden taste with vomit notes. Thin-bodied. Slightly sharp mouthfeel from the acid, with some heat. Sour, roasty earthy honeyish aftertaste lingers for a long time. This must be infected, because they can’t possibly have meant for it to taste like this. Awful. (0.75l bottle, from Kihoskh, Copenhagen.)

Aroma of spicy malt. Flavour of toffee with a touch of pepper and spice in the aftertaste. Smooth, slightly oily palate flattened the flavour profile. OK, but not my favourite from this brewer.
