The body has a deep black color with a medium, creamy beige head. The aroma has a strong roasted malt with notes of coacoa. The flavor is pretty much the same, strong roasted malt with coacoa, the finish is slightly bitter. The body has a light to medium thickness and is very silky, the carbonation level is low. Not the greatest of stouts but well done and enjoyable.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Ungstrup (26194) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - AUG 16, 2005
An opaque red-brown beer with a long lasting brown head. The aroma is very roasted with notes of coffee as well as hints of chocolate. The flavor is also very roasted with different chocolate notes, among them bitter desert chocolate, but it also contains notes of coffee. And the roastiness gives it a dry end.

Deep dark brown, not quite opaque, irregular dark beige head. Torrefied, highly roasty nose with coffee grains and slightly vegetal undertones. Tasty in mouth, the coffee tingles around the grainy, powdery cocoa, dry nature, mild herbal licorice hints, rooty. Good stuff, smooth low carbonation. Well executed.

Chocolate and roasted malts with notes of soy in the mildly lactic aroma. Opaque black body is topped by a decent tan head that recedes to ring with some lace. Roastiness is dominant with notable licorice and chocolate flavours. Somewhat watery medium-light body with low carbonation. Sampled at the brewpub with Oakes, Rastacouere and Ungstrup.

Tap. May 2004. Deep dark ale with a sustained moka head. Expresso aroma with floral hops, not overpowering. Dry powdery chocolates mouthfeel. A bit thin but still well balanced, due to hops.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2008 Lots of roasted coffee beans in the nose lead to a frank roasted maltiness and base cereal sweetness...A wildberry bush carcass seems to lay within this prevalent roast...
