The history of India pale ales date back to the 18th century when British troops occupied India. Beer was made in England and sent to the stationed troops. Pale ales were popular beers at the time and had to endure a six month journey to the distant country. Spoilage was common and one way to prevent the loss of beer was to add more hops to the existing recipe, which are an excellent natural preservative. The addition of more hops made pale ales stronger with a higher alcohol content. Basically, India Pale Ales are stronger over hopped versions of it's cousin, the Pale Ale. The style has grown very popular in this country over the years and can be found all around. Our IPA is more aggressive than most with a high hop aroma. The taste is a true hop bomb. The IPA appears somewhat cloudy because it is unfiltered, leaving every bit of flavor in the glass.

Tap in Las Vegas. Pleasant lemon grapefruit tinged aroma. Juicy citrus tones. New school, quite delicious. A really pleasant surprise.

Sampler at the Four Queens location. On to their "premium" beer. The rest of their drafts are $5 for 22oz, this is $7 for 20. Pours caramel gold with an off white head. Nice pine and grapefruit aroma. Caramel backbone with a solid dose of pine hop. Orange citrus there too. Soft mouthfeel. This is head and shoulders above the others in this sampler so far. Hoppy, but not a palate wrecker or anything.

20th July 2014, one of the 9 samples on my two storey tasting tray inside the Four Queens Casino in Downtown Las Vegas. Aa cloudy dark amber with a creamy head of white foam. The aroma was citrus based yet was also semi-sweet. The flavor was sweet caramel with a pine hop bite and again some citrus notes. Decent.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a hazy dark amber color with a medium sized creamy white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was strong tangy and sweet catbox, pine and cactus. The flavor was sweet and tangy cactus, pine and a bit of catbox with caramel underneath. Long cactus and pine finish. Moderately full bodied. Solid.

(draft @ Chicago Brewing Company in Four Queens Hotel & Casino - Las Vegas, NV) Hazy copper pour with a white head. Nice citrus and bitter hop aroma. Piney flavor at the start that moves to a sweet citrus and very lightly bitter finish. Really nice.

Gold pour, white head. Light flavored IPA here. Citrusy, light malt. Nothing really spectacular here. But its clean and drinkable.

This was by far the best IPA at Las Vegas’ Motley Brewfest! Citrusy, hoppy yet smooth.
