elektrogeist (157), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Feb 19, 2005 A very good IPA from this brewer, with my favorite mix of hops very fresh. The only problem here was I felt the maltiness was not quite well enough balanced with the hops as it is in something like stone’s IPA. But if you’re trying this brewer’s beers and it’s in season, it’s definitely worth a shot. They give you a freebie shot to taste it first before you order a whole drink if you want too, but this is one you’ll definitely want to try. whaleman (2168), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 3, 2004 GABF 2004. Labeled "Chicago Big IPA". Clear golden body and a nice standing white head. Mildly cheesy, piney hop nose. A hot beer with a very hoppy, resinous flavor and a touch of malt balance. Fairly standard double IPA. bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA May 12, 2004 on draft: as he handed me this one...said ’your gonna be chewing on a hop with this beer...the kid wasnt lieing....nicely cascade hopped beer and well balanced flavor somwhat grassy and green. a surprise to see so much alcohol in it, didnt know until i went to rate. alcohol well hidden. enjoyable beer and a must for you over the top hop kids. Braudog (3463), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Mar 6, 2004 Holy Hops! Kyle's imperial IPA must be made from hops and a little water. Powerfully super-hoppy with a orange-citric bite, yet well balanced. Nice dark orange ale. Awesome.
