3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Jonb5 (238) - Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 7, 2013
Pale colour, clear, minimal head which faded fast. Aroma was fairly pronounced Hallertau hop and red cabbage. Tasted red cabbage, malt and some pleasant honey notes. Mouthfull was crisp, smooth and moderately carbonated. Overall it was a balanced, refreshing easy drinker, shame it won’t reach more people.

Bottle by 24.04.12. Sweet nose just smacking of citrus and juicy malt. Clear, very pale golden pour with a soapy white head. Sweet floral notes swirl around the juicy malt, very mild bread swells in the finish but not in the aftertaste. Low bitterness and additional low hop components (grass, light spice). Light body is crisp and never watery. Very good character, would have no problem buying a case.

Tip of the hat to Bierkrug for this recommendation. This light bodied helles is perfect on a hot summer’s day. Light in body but full in flavor. Just enough to taste the grains without overpowering the palate. Very enjoyable...

Bottle, 4.8%. Mild dusty aroma. Clear golden colour. Small white head. The flavour is dusty and OK malty. Nothing spectacular, but nice enough.

Classic German style 50cl bottle pours watery clear with some gold hues and thin white head. The mild aroma offers up some grainy malts and a touch of lemon. The taste has some spicy hops to start and then rolls toward mild notes of floral hops, sweet malts and some grainy malts. This has a pleasing hop forward presence.

Bottle looks simple, but good. Beer in the glass very zippy, huge head. Starts modest hoppy-dry, then more and more spicy, malty with a sweet touch in the finish. Well balanced and quite drinkable. Nice!
