2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 wheresthepath (1083) - - MAY 11, 2009
[500ml bottle from brewery shop] Amber; moderate, slowly collapsing off-white head. Soft carbonation with occasional prickly bits. Smell on opening the bottle is fresh, fruity, citric and zingy. The taste is rather a disappointment in comparison. There’s some biscuit-y malt but with cardboard overtones. A hint of spiciness comes through before a rather bitter finish. It’s OK, but I really wish my second-closest brewery could do better than this...

Bottle @ pre-GBBF shindig, August 2009. Old bottle. Amber colour with a slight haze. Fairly dry. Quite earthy hops and touches of nutty malt. Very traditional in style. Has held up reasonably well but definitely showing signs of age. Flagged for re-rate.

A Mes rate. Bottle at Duff’s. Clean gold with a decent white head. Smells of arse. Tastes of well used socks. Comically bad. Honestly, I can’t drink it. Must be off.
