COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Available and released during our 30th anniversary year, this limited run beer has been specially developed as a ’not-for-profit’ production to support the project and will be available from the brewery at Terrick, the Farmers’ Bar in Aylesbury and selected stockists. Every bottle sold will provide 25 pence towards the restoration. Monument Ale is an excellent Chiltern Brewery brew using favourite ingredients from the past 30 years and new tastes to excite the palate. It is a rich golden coloured beer and is brewed with a balanced blend of fruity Goldings and Northdown hops and Maris Otter malt to produce a unique autumn flavour reminiscent of bygone days.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. It pours a small, off-white to white head over a clear, dark golden body. The aroma is dominated by English hops, with a bready touch in the back. The flavor has a pleasant bready maltyness and sweetness as a backdrop for grassy, slighlty piney hops and some bitterness. Dry, medium to full body. Lasting dryness and hoppyness in the end. A pleasant and tasteful one, one that I could drink a few of. 110417

UPDATED: JAN 3, 2011 Bottle from the Kings Head, Farmers Bar, Aylesbury, Bucks 31.12.10 consumed at home 01.01.11 Pours gold with a slim white head. Very much English hops come off the nose. The taste is hoppy with some back of the mouth bitterness. A simple golden beer not a lot going on other than its reasonably crisp, bit dry at the end, fine and difficult to fault for what it is.
