I got the opportunity to taste this in a beer tasting in Söderbärke in Sweden during the winter. It was a real treat and the citrus aroma shines through with a wonderful balance.

Bottle - Lemon, tropical fruit, spices and a little yeast. Clear pale gold with a nice bubbly head. Very effervescent, can feel the bubbles in my nose. Sweet mellow fruits, rounding into a yeasty finish. There is a lite bitterness and some alcohol as well.

Bottled. Pours light amber in color with a whitish head. A bit of bready notes, some yeasty spicyness and light herbal notes in aroma. Feels dry. Dark sweet bready notes in taste, some spices too. A bit of biscuit towards the end.

Bottle from Yamaya. Light blond colour with nice white head. Aroma is very Belgian! Yeasty, citrus fruity, sweet, herbal and a bit of booze. Taste is good too, initial fruitiness, citrus and berries, then smooths out into a soft yeasty and slightly creamy finish. No sign of the alcohol. Nice sweetness too. Really nice and quite difficult to pin down individual flavours. Comes all in a big tasty rush. Dangerously drinkable.

750ml bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a fluffy two finger white head. Aroma of bananas, green apples, peppercorn, and floral hops. Taste mimics the nose. Bananas, green apples, some peppercorns, floral, some alcohol, and a touch of citrus.

75cl bottle Super fruity, orange, soft cheese, super herbs, coriander, thyme. Clear orangeblond, a bit misty maybe if you get the end of the bottle (not the sediment yet), creamy white head, a little sparkling of tiny bubbles, lasting. Fruity, banana, orange, massive herbs, coriander, minimal bitter. Soft, bittersweet finish, fruity, full mouthfeel. I really loved this one!

Like the chimay white on crack - good crack. Aromas of coriander, booze, citrus, floral aromas and a little cardemom I suppose, though all I can distinguish is extra spices. Pours cloudy orange with good head and lacing, bits of sediment floating around. Soft carbonation. Nice find - hope there’s another one in the next 150 years.Awesomely cheap find at the LCBO at $10 a bottle. Every now and then you’ve gotta love it. Finishes with lightly floral scents of sweetness and booze.

The beer poured a lightly hazed, red-tinged golden colour with a long lasting rocky head. Aroma is Chimay yeast, orange and apple notes, spices and a hint of alcohol. Mouthfeel is full bodied, with good carbonation. Flavour is light fruits, the yeast and alcohol are certainly noticeable, and a bitter finish. Very similar to the Chimay White, with the alcohol definitely more noticeable.

HopRedHead (393) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - MAY 10, 2013
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours golden straw with creamy head. Big coriander and spicy/herbaceous nose. Taste has banana and a white wine-esque acidity with a thick body. Really herbaceous and spicy flavours. Not really my cup of tea, but I could appreciate it.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours cloudy but vibrant orange with an extremely thick white head - like marshmallow. Sits there for the entirety and leaves amazing layers of lacing. Nose shows coriander straight away. Quite spice driven with some heavy dried apricot behind, a touch of sourness coming through - maybe grapefruit-like. Also has some lemon rind as it opens up and banana. Taste showcases the herbal-esque spices. Loads of coriander. Lemon comes through. As it warms up, banana takes over from the lemon - fills up the palate. Apircot takes a back seat. There is a small dose of ethanol with a fair bit of warming in the aftertaste which is a little off putting but it’s probably my only qualm. Very solid stuff as you’d expect
