Aroma is sweet and estherery banana, clove, vanilla, dough. Beautiful gold with big pillowy white head that leaves dense lacing. Sweet, body of grains, mostly a wheat. Banana reminiscent Of ahefeweizen. Creamy body. Medium to full.

Served at cellar temp. The beer is golden hued and transparent with bubbles in rapid ascension emanating from the bottom. The head is an inch thick and displays lasting retention. The aroma offers Belgian yeast, spice, citrus, coriander. The flavor brings abundant spice wrapped in a blanket of Trappist yeast. Brown bread, slightly sweet. Really tasty. Medium bodied and silky smooth on the palate. Moderate carbonation. A touch of alcohol warmth in the finish. Overall, this was vey tasty. Is it worth $21? Is it better than the regular Chimay lineup? The answer to both questions is no. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Clear gold with a dense white head. Spiced aroma and a very tangy palate. Yeast, wheat but all lifted with an Indian food spiciness. Very smooth considering the alcohol level

Kaatuu nimikkolasiinsa kullankeltaisena ja hieman sameana, vaahto on noin sormen paksuinen ja todella kestävää sorttia. Väkisin tulee saman panimon White mieleen, niukemmalla vaahdolla. Haju on hieman viileänä tasainen sekoitus mausteisuutta, marjaisuutta ja kuivattua hedelmää. Hieman myös marjapensasta on mukana. Maku on vahvasti aniksinen ja runsaasti muitakin mausteita on mukana. Taustalla on myös kuivattua hedelmää, mutta anis jyrää kyllä jopa anisfanin mielestä turhankin paljon muiden yli. Suutuntuma on reilun hiilihappoinen ja muutenkin melko täyteläinen. Humalointia löytyy, yllättävän vahvasti. Alkoholikin tuntuu, muttei häiritsevästi. Olutvuoden 2013 avaus on kyllä erittäin vahvaa belgituotosta, joskin anis jyrää hieman liian paljon. Onneksi se kuitenkin on anis, sillä pidän siitä oluessa erittäin paljon. Jos se olisi vaikka inkivääri, niin pisteet ja arvio voisi olla hyvinkin erilainen...

750 mL bottle. Pours a hazy dark yellow with a big white head and excellent lacing. Served at near room temperature the aroma is citrus and banana. The taste is sweet with banana and spices. Very good and hides the alcohol quite nicely.
