Bottle, shared with Parksy, Grippitis, JJ. Cloudy yellow with a creamy white head that laces thickly. Lovely floral aroma. Flavours center around sweet, bready pale malts, more floral than spicy, incredibly drinkable for 10%!

75CL bottle, Cellar find since i forgot i still had it, light golden beer with a small head, aroma sweetness, grain, yeast, fruit. Taste is bittersweet, fruit, yeast, , quite fizzy, quite some alcohol, dont know how much % was added in these 3 years.... nice enough.

750ml bottle. Hazy, bright orangey, golden colour with average, thick, frothy, faily lasting and lacing, white head. Fruity aroma, notes of apricot, a touch of mirabelle, peach, some yeasty and herbal spiciness. Taste is quite similar, smooth palate, well hidden alcohol.

Pours a clear gold (some lees in the bottle) with a fat finger of fluffy white head, great retention, and chunky head. Nose is muted, candi sugar, Belgian yeast, faint floral hops and dark fruit. Taste follows suit, sweet and complex. Medium to light body, with a somewhat fluffy texture aided by the sustained moderate carbonation, and a lingering, sticky, boozy finish. I’m a little torn here - it’s a decent enough tripel, albeit a touch on the sticky side, and missing the dry, floral aspect I tend to prefer in a tripel - but I feel like it would cellar really well. There’s a hint of dark fruit that I think would integrate very well with the booziness to make something partway between a tripel and a quad. As it stands, it’s a little exuberant and naïve. At the end of the day, though, it’s a Chimay, and if they do anything wrong, I haven’t seen it.

Luxury ale of limited edition (100,000 bottles, if I’m not mistaken) for the 150th anniversary of the largest Belgian trappist brewery. Off-white, irregular head on a cloudy golden blonde robe. Nice fruity and herbal aroma with citrus peel, cinnamon, molasses, raisins, yeast, pear, candi syrup, pineapple. Soft and complex fruitiness in onset, well-rounded and supple with caramelly and bready, mellow, mouth-filling maltiness, yeasty spicy touch, medium long finish, very well-balanced. Another great trappist which undoubtedly ages quite well, too bad I didn’t buy more bottles.

750mL bottle, pours a dirty mahogany with a medium off-white head. Aroma is complex, with lots of Belgian yeast, toffee, and some dark fruits. Flavour is complex, with loads of raisins, toffee and complex Belgian yeast. Extremely drinkable despite the lively carbonation. Wonderful stuff.
