4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
330ml brown bottle. Excellent appearance - ruby brown, light tan head stays creamy and tight. Great lacing. A touch of alcohol in the nose, along with some dark fruit and sweet malts. It has some noticable hop flavours, dark sweet malt, some roasted notes. Some dryness and yeast spiciness in the finish with late alcohol warming. Really glad the local LCBO finally had it in stock! Rating #200.

Pour is loud and and the colour of homemade iced tea. The cap is an inch and a half of tan foam, even with the gentlest of pours, but it settles to a film pretty quickly, leaving a bit of lace. The nose on this stuff is a treasure trove. I get something new with every sniff: pungent Belgian yeast, prunes/raisins, banana, lots of spice, hazelnuts, dark caramel/toffee, a hint of something floral. Taste is a slightly sweet malt with caramel and hazelnuts, ripe banana. The booze is virtually invisible until the finish, where it starts to give off this pleasant, lingering warmth. This is remarkably drinkable for 9%, and while it’s not dry per se it’s remarkably well-balanced. And I just downed it in ten minutes, on an empty stomach, so there goes my night. Cheers!

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle thanks to Jaco. Pours a beautiful dark brown with large cream head that eventually recedes to a thin layer that persists. Not much aroma, slightly fruity. Taste of coffee and dark fruit, very drinkable for a 9% beer, a very smooth alcohol flavour. Really nice.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
0,75l bottle from Erzbierschof. Pours brownish with a lively foam that quickly dies. I enjoyed this beer and there’s clearly nothing wrong with it, but I find it a bit boring.

Degu @erzbierschof. Nicht schlecht, wenig CO2. Sehr viel Caramell. Rund und harmonisch, aber keine Ecken und Kanten. Langweilig.

Delicious. Pours dark hazy brown with thick beige head. Smells sweet and of Belgian yeast. Tastes of dark fruit, slightly bitter with sweet malty notes and some hint of banana and bubble gum. Primo

I find this beer as the others 330ml Chimay charming just looking at the bottle: simple but elegant.
The real appearence in the glass confirms the idea with its dark ruby color and the thick with head.
It gets a little while to open nad probably it’s a matter of right serving temperature, but the aroma is definitely the best feature of this beer, which will literally fill your nose with yeast and toffe, but I must say that every time I find some little differences.
Great beer for those who like to pay attention to every details.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cloudy Dark Ruby Brown Color, Huge Foam Head That Does Not Last Too Long, Settles to A Small Lacing Ring. Sweet Fruity and Boozy Aroma. Malt, Fruit and Boozy Finish. Might Be Very Good At What It Is, Have Rich History but then again it is not for everyone. I personally don’t like booziness although it is part of this style. Drinkable.
