Hailsa !
This is why the Vikings raided monastaries !
Rich brown colour smooth cream head. It sifts in over the tounge like silk. A woody malt flavor is beautiful. Top it off with an alcohol content that will knock the horns of your helmet.

A lot of fresh fruit in the nose, like marmolade. It’s really easy to drink considering its 9% abv. I would like some more complexity of aromas such us cooked fruit or some dry fruits

Wow, what to say about Chimay Grand Reserve.....
Well to start, my mouth is watering just thinking about the rich flavor and complexities. It has a wonderfully faint coffee aroma, and an even further distant sent of chocolate. Make no mistake this is no type of chocolate stout or mocha flavored beer. This is a true beauty. Unique to itself and wonderfully crafted to have you craving more so the larger bottle is a must. As much as a dark beer on a hot day sounds like red wine in the sun, frost yourself a mug and pour slowly. The wonderfully roasted flavor goes down like......satin! Yeah, definitely satin!

Incredibly complex array of flavours, roasted malts, toffee and caramel, hints of dark chocolate and coffee. Huge alcohol hidden amongst the complexity. One of the top beers in the world. One to be savoured and sipped with good company. People who complain about it being too expensive should go back to drinking their megaswill in their trailer park. At around A$16 for a 750ml its cheaper than an average bottle of wine.

Best Abbey beer ever. Garanteed headache though, when you have more than 2 :-)

Deep brown, but don't let the darkness fool you. Every swallow you take, the smoother it gets! This is something that you drink not too cold, let it sit out for 20 minutes or so to warm up. My favorite Belgian ale!

If there is a beeter beer out there I have not had it. The beer poors a dark brown so you expect it to be heavy. I still can't believe how smooth and perfect this beer was.

This is one of my favorites, had it before dinner. Fragrant aroma of sweet citrus, not tangy citrus. Nice head, bubbles are very large. Body is kinda thin, but explodes with flavor on your tongue, almost chirstmas spices and friut, but underlying. the giant bubbles only help awaken your sleeping tounge.
750 ml bottle, 5 months old

This beer is probably the most commercial trappist in belgium.
The taste is unique and the sensations during drinking also ...
