3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I’m a little disappointed actually. The aroma is good: fruity, dulled, some furniture polish in there, also very sweet buttercream. But after that the taste is a little one-dimensional: strong certainly but a little complex - but not amazing. A copper head quickly gave way to nothing and the drink looked sad in the glass with a slick of sediment across the top. Maybe I got an old bottle of Tesco’s shelf, maybe I wasn’t careful with the pour. But I’m not raving about it.

Pours dark brown white tan foam. Lots of caramel and licorice nose. Taste is well balanced. Dark fruits, caramel sweetness, toasted nuts, yeasty favors balanced by a light buttering hop. A classic Belgian!
