COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned - 150 cl, 75 cl, and 33 cl bottles. Named Grande Réserve in 75 cl bottles, and Magnum Grande Réserve in 150 cl bottles.
Chimay Blue is principally distinguished by its character of a strong beer. This is a beer whose fragrance of fresh yeast with a light, flowery rosy touch is especially pleasant. Its flavour, noticed when tasting it, only accentuates the pleasant sensations perceived in the aroma , while revealing a light but pleasant touch of roasted malt. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.

dark brown beer, nice head, quitte malty tasting, altough it also has a medium bitterness and a medium sweetness. I dig this one pretty hard, because it is so very very balanced: excellent beer!

cl bottle - pours opaque brown with copious amounts of beige foam and some lacing. Nose is yeasty, and fruity. Aroma is caramel malts, candy and alcohol. Taste is sweet. Medium to full body with sticky texture. Finish is long and boozy. Burpy. I expected a better palate experience and more aroma with the high ratings it has had.

Bottle. I have had this many times and it’s a fantastic beer with rich malt, clove, banana, dark fruit, spices, and candy notes.

This Belgium Trappist beer is pure perfection especially coming from a chemay galss with its silver lip. It poors dark brown with a big a froofy head. It smells partially nutty and tastes plentiful.

Pours a cloudy caramel color with thick, white head. Lots of lacing on the side if the glass. Aroma is of sweet, dark fruit. Tastes of caramel, toffee, and dark fruit. Medium to full bodied with plenty of carbonation. Sweet, and slightly warming (alcoholic) finish. Very good beer overall, but if you really like Trappist beers, do yourself a favor and pick up some Rochefort or Westy.

A lot of fresh fruit in the nose, like marmolade. It’s really easy to drink considering its 9% abv. I would like some more complexity of aromas such us cooked fruit or some dry fruits

Frothy, steady broken white head on a Belgian dark chocolate beer. Moroccan rosy to the nose, copious monks’ table in the mouth. Heavy to the head: beer as it should be in winter.
