judasbeer (229), Budapest, Hungary Apr 16, 2009 Deep nut brown, mahogany color with fully lacing tan head. Complex fruity aroma with dominating plums, and alcoholic dried fruits. Mild sweet raisins, plums with slight sugar candy and gingerbread edge. Medium spicy finish with some herbals and coriander. Very smooth and delicate with well hidden alcohol, but far away from Rochefort. NomDeBeer (397), Maryland, USA Apr 16, 2009 Aroma is dominated by bread and yeast. Color is a medium brown with a thin white head. Taste is caramel, plums, raisins. No bitterness at all, with only a slight trace of alcohol. Could use a little more body and less carbonation. Another Belgian beer I don’t like. RichardW (237), Carlisle, Cumbria, England Apr 15, 2009 Deep, dark and rich. Liquid fruit cake, possibly....... My bottle was a bit unsettled, despite 3 weeks sat in a cool garage, didn’t spoil the enjoyment though. A beer that commands respect and is impossible to do more than sip; the explosion of richness and strength on the tongue and back of the mouth makes sure of that....... missing (72), Wichita, Kansas, USA Apr 13, 2009 Nothing to say that hasn’t been said. Aroma of raisins and yeast. Flavor is bold and clear. Smooth for 9%. Definitely a pleaser. RasterMaster (120), , Oklahoma, USA Apr 11, 2009 Hazy ruby brown pour into a THICK foamy off white head that dissipates into sticky lacing which quickly melts down the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, flowery hops and yeasty biscuits. Initial flavor of dark fruit with a spicy hoppy finish. gwpom (246), Akron, New York, USA Apr 9, 2009 11.2 oz bottle. Deep cloudy brown with a nice tan head that does not fade away. Fruity aroma, but the taste is not overly sweet/fruity like some Belgians I’ve tried. Smooth ale, very enjoyable. Will have to get the big bottle next time. ljstephenson (111), Lawton, Oklahoma, USA Apr 9, 2009 Nice brownish orange pour with an off-white head, strong alcohol and fruit, alcohol is well hidden, a bit spicy, this beer finishes very well with zero bitterness. beerdad (74), Kansas, USA Apr 8, 2009 Bottled. Pours mahogany, with a full tan head. Smells of alcohol, yeast, and vanilla. Flavors include the above with raisin and malt. A good beer. I will have it again
