COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned - 150 cl, 75 cl, and 33 cl bottles. Named Grande Réserve in 75 cl bottles, and Magnum Grande Réserve in 150 cl bottles.
Chimay Blue is principally distinguished by its character of a strong beer. This is a beer whose fragrance of fresh yeast with a light, flowery rosy touch is especially pleasant. Its flavour, noticed when tasting it, only accentuates the pleasant sensations perceived in the aroma , while revealing a light but pleasant touch of roasted malt. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.

One of my all time favourites. Colour of this beer is dark earthy brown with a thick head. Aromas of alcohol, bread, caramel. The taste is little bit alcohol taste, sweet Mild bitterness on the finish.

This is one of my top five beers. The caramel taste is wonderful and the streght of alcohol taste is, at my opinion, simply perfect.

33cl bottle. Pours dark brown with a slight chocolate head. The ale smelled of raisins, earth, dates and dark fruits. The beer tasted of well blended dark fruits and yeast. It finished with a dry spanish ceder and nutmeg feel. It felt full but rounded with a sense of smoothness. Overall the beer was complete and reminded me of something timeless

One of the best beers I have tried. Amazing start to finish. I was served this slightly chilled and man was it awesome!

Bottle. Surprising that I haven’t rated this yet. Pours a mostly clear reddish brown color with a larger off white head. The aroma and flavor are both heavily influenced by dark fruits such as cherries and plums. Additional flavors are sweet candi sugar, some floral notes and a big yeast presence. This is a nice beer, but I prefer others in the style more (R 8 and 10).

black, white foam, average carbonation, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, earthy, cloudy, one of the best dark brown Belgians you’ll find

very good, full pleasant beer that starts from the first smell. Call it sacrilege though, but I still prefer the chimay white, but then I always prefer a bitter aftertaste.
