vikingguy (138), Chaska, Minnesota, USA Feb 7, 2009 Pours a tan creamy head that lingers. Very dark in low light but when held up to a light, it reveals a remarkable ruby color. Aroma of figs, molasses, toffee. Taste is smooth, creamy...starts with taste of dates/raisins and fades to a malty-caramel sweet finish, ending with a touch of hoppy bitterness. High ABV is well masked, only a slight warming sensation. One of the finest beers I’ve ever had. eManu (170), Brussels, Belgium Feb 7, 2009 It pours a nice deap dark brown with a light tan head. Wonderfull aromas with a blend of fruits and malts. Its taste is well ballance bettwen its sweetness of brown sugars, fruits and caramellized hops. One of the most flavorfull and pleasant beers to drink. Must take the time to enjoy this delicasy. racerxrtcw (1), , Pennsylvania, USA does not count Feb 7, 2009 The best beer I’ve ever had. Just the right balance of malt and fruit and not overly strong. Let it warm up a little and it tastes even better. cellar (483), Dublin, Ireland Feb 6, 2009 unclear brown w nice head. Strong malty aroma of dark fruit, caramel and spices. Alcolhol develops in mouth. Flavour is sweet and the long finish sweet too. Never go wrong with Chimay Bleu poolboy (66), Lafayette, Indiana, USA Feb 4, 2009 Brown in color with beige head. Aroma and taste is of prune, malt, chocolate, and yeast. This is one of the best very widely distributed beers. I prefer the bottle to the top version myself. Good with food because it has a solid but not overpowering flavor that complements rather than dominates. ska (125), Italy Feb 3, 2009 33cl bottle, dark reddish/brown colour, medium brownish creamy head, yeast and dark fruits aroma, spices and chocolate notes, sweet chocolate flavor, finish with raisins and spices aftertaste, finally my quest for chimay blue is over and my expectations are confirmed Rustyham (545), miami, Florida, USA Feb 2, 2009 Come on, you know it is the best if you have to close your eyes as you sip it. Forget Champagne, I’m serving this at my wedding. jkwalking05 (1483), Arlington, Texas, USA Jan 31, 2009 Brown in color with a large beige head. Aroma is of prune, flowers and malt.
