COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned - 150 cl, 75 cl, and 33 cl bottles. Named Grande Réserve in 75 cl bottles, and Magnum Grande Réserve in 150 cl bottles.
Chimay Blue is principally distinguished by its character of a strong beer. This is a beer whose fragrance of fresh yeast with a light, flowery rosy touch is especially pleasant. Its flavour, noticed when tasting it, only accentuates the pleasant sensations perceived in the aroma , while revealing a light but pleasant touch of roasted malt. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.

Pours a dark brown, aroma is the fruity belgian yeast with some bread notes flavor is sweet plum like with the slightest hop bitterness overall a good beer

Pours brown hue with a tan somehat frothy but quickly vanishing head. Aroma nice malty smell with a small hint of vanilla. Taste is wonderful, a nice carbonation hits the tounge as the smooth like champange taste rolls in. Hints of grapes and malty wonderfulness, is the best descripiton I can give. Highly reommended.

Dark amber, small head. Sweet malts, alcohol and burned sugar in the nose. Flavors of raisins, caramel, yeast notes and warming alcohol. A nice winter-warmer.

33 mL / 75 cL bottle. Creamy brown head. Really a nice and strong flavor and the alcohol isn’t appearent. A well famous beer but it deserved it

Bottle looks simple, but good. Beer in the glass dark, not black. Malty-alcoholic aroma. Starts heavy-malty, intense, again a bit alcoholic-soapy, fruity like raisins. Finish warming, well balanced, but still a bit too alcoholic. Good beer, but not more.

UPDATED: MAR 4, 2011 Chimay Blue on punertava ja ruskea, sakea olut. Aromi ja maku ovat molemmat tumman hedelmäisiä, hiivaisia, rusinaisia ja mausteisia. Hyvä perusbelgi. Tekee juuri sen, mitä pitääkin.

Pours deep copper with red-ish hue, massive off tan head. Aroma is yeast, hints of banana. Medium moutfeel, alcohol warmth, taste of candy sugar.

Pours amber in color. Strong carbonation, bubbly on the tongue. Smells of citrus, some dark fruits,and some floral hoppy notes. Taste leads with a few bitter notes and then transforms into what you get in the nose with a slight alcohol twist.
