Steely (149), , Sweden Dec 12, 2008 Pours thick hazy brown with a foamy tan head. Light floral aroma with hints of yeast, caramel and malt. Round, rich flavor of perfectly roasted malt, sweet fudge and raisins in total harmony. Finish is slightly vinous with a touch of alcohol. Very well balance with a thich, full mouthfeel with bubbly carbonation. MeanMountnMan (15), Nampa, Idaho, USA Dec 10, 2008 This is a big malt beer. Nothing else shows through. Dark in color and cloudy, sweet and carmely, full of various rich malt flavors. No hops to speak of. Higher alcohol, but decadent to the last drop. aroma of spices, very nice spices, raisins, faint banana, dark fruits. very balanced and well mixed. almost as if it had been on wood or something.
flavor is a little less sophisticated than the aroma. alc easily detectable, mouthfeel a bit bubbly, beneath the alc. is a well balanced belgian style brew. i sense some cellar or cork.

Botnik (100), Carrollton, Texas, USA Nov 19, 2008 It took me a while to get around to it. It’s my first Belgian Strong Ale. I guess it’s pretty good, but it’s not my style. I will have to try it again some time.
