Jun 13, 2008 Clovey sweet and cola spicy nose. Cloudy amber/brown color, some hints of red, nice frothy long-lasting head. Malty caramel sweetness, raisins and light toasted white bread. Easy bitterness and some tartness, provides a fantastic balance. Mouth feel is full and carbonation is creamy and silky. Finish is long, complex, smooth, and has a nice late alcohol burn cutting through it all. This is an amazing beer, a must try!

Jun 11, 2008 Pours a deep red with a nice white head. Lots of bread, malt, dark fruit and yeast flavors. This was, long ago, one of my real initiations into Belgian beers. While I still enjoy it, it doesn’t hold up as well for me--seems a bit too cola-like in body and finish. Still a classic beer, though.

Jun 10, 2008 Pours opaque brown with a tan head. The head lasts for a while. Aroma had a floral sweet spice smell that I could not place. The flavor is very complex. Malt, yeast and dark fruit present in the taste.Definitely tasted better as it warmed.

Jun 7, 2008 Pours opaque brown with a tan head. Classic BSA aroma of yeast, malt, and dark fruit. Great flavor of more malt and fruit. Amazing mouthfeel, smooth as butter on the palate. Great beer.

Jun 7, 2008 25oz bottle. pleasantly yeasty aroma, much like the commercial description insists. Distinctly Belgian flavor, fruity and soft with only a hint of the hidden alcohol that persists within. It’s pretty, too. And it’ll knock you to the ground.

Jun 6, 2008 Updated: Dec 21, 2008Dark fruits, malts, sugar, alcohol and yeast in aroma. Flavor is sweet malts, dark fruits, candi sugar and toffee, some alcohol and hops. Alcohol warms nicely. Very smooth palate and easy to drink.

Jun 4, 2008 Wicked tastey! Pours a beautiful dark but vibrant amber coloured body with a full light brown head. Almost a barely-wine-like mouthfeel. Aroma was pleasent, caramel malts, raisins, pretzels and toffee. Nice creamy texture, lot of fruit, rich flavors. Had a significant amount of hops in the finish. Superb brew :)
