An unclear dark orange beer with a fine but collapsing head. The aroma is sweet and pretty complex with notes of alcohol, wood, fruit, and metal. The flavor fruity with strong notes of plms, oranges, and coriander. The mouthfeel is very carbonated almost like a sodapop - and a little thin - especially compared to the ohter Chimays. A very fresh beer - this would make a great session beer if it was marketed.

(Bottle 33 cl) Pours a clear amber with a small, off-white head. Discreetly spicy and fruity aroma. Fairly light body with a light caramelish sweetness and a subdued spiciness. Almost no hops to be detected here. A rather refined and pleasant little beer - so much flavour in such a modest wrapping. 300107

33 cL bottle at plan B. Pours hazy light brown with a little lacing head. Malty and slight yeasty aroma, a bit muddy profile. Has some vague dried fruit notes. Quite fruity flavour. Slight nutty. Bitter sweet caramel malt flavour with clear belgian-yeast fruity notes. Ends in a slight bitterness with a persisting caramel flavour. Somewhat complicated and without any direction - but not bad in any way.

Bottled. Hazy orange colour with mediumsized off-shite head. Strong barleywinelike aroma (plum, fruits, sugar). Flavour is dry fruits, some caramel and malts along with nuts. The nuts become stronger in the aftertaste.

Bottled. Pale orange and hazy. Perfumy, flowery aroma, similar to the stronger Chimay’s. Sweet and light bodied. Smooth mouthfeel, bordering bo being watery. Light flowery finish.

Bottle. Bready aroma, a bit oxidized. Quite cloudy red colour. Small creamy white head. Medium mouthfeel. The flavour is also quite bready- Low bitterness and thin aftertaste. But rather drinkable.

Hazy golden color. Nice, delicate malt and hop aroma. Pretty light mouthfeel, quite sharp spicy flavor, dry. Well bitter final and palate.
Simple? Maybe, but as I opened the bottle I could smell Belgium.
Table beer? Those monks are lucky.

[Bottle @ Plan b] Muddy with winy off white head. Malty aroma with yeasty and fruity notes. Flavor has plums, prunes, yeast and light and roasted malt. Would server well as a session beer.
