Bottle... Murky caramel-colored ale with a mid-sized, wispy, white head. Good retention. The aroma presents restrained notes of bread, dates and golden raisins intertwined with whispers of dust and a spicy phenols. Light-bodied and mildly creamy with tickling carbonation. The flavor is a perfectly-balanced medley of bread, light caramel, date and fig. Crisp, bready, refreshing finish. Bottle courtesy of Mathieu87!

0.33 l bottle from Alko. Dark yellow, cloudy with a nice head. Not much of hops, just enough to give their share. The rest comes probably from the yeast: fruits, slight sweetness. Glad to have this now outside the abbey.

Surprising beer for a Trappist. It is bright golden coloured with a bright white head. Malty character and a faint citrus freshness. Smooth finish.

Ótima cerveja. Coloração dourada, boa formação de espuma. Aroma cítrico assim como no paladar.

Chimay chalice. Disappointingly ordinary brew, certainly the weakest of the Chimays. Straw, light spiciness, white bread, watery, mild. A pretty boring brew from a great brewery. Tried it chilled and then let it sit and warm up, but still not much flavor.

330ml bottle from Masuyo’s. Poured into a snifter. Pours a golden straw color with a modest white head. Aromas of orange zest, lemon and floral herbs. Light body with a nice refreshing mouthfeel. Lively carbonation. Well-balanced with a good malt backbone to support the citrus points. Becomes quite fruity and floral as it comes to room temperature. Bit of vegetable and pepper present as well. Nice peppery and bitter finish.

11.2 oz bottle purchased at Pangaea in Sacramento. The aroma on this is so wonderful. Lemon and orange rind citrus hints, very floral, light candi sugars, too. Perhaps some coriander and a little grains of paradise. The floral sweet aroma reminds me of nectar. I could smell this beer all day. Mostly hazy dark golden body with a really large, fluffy, white head. Strong. Good lacing. Starts with a light sweet maltiness, before this becomes somewhat floral in the middle. Some cereal and nutty flavors also come through. Finishes with a mild bitter spiciness. Really nice mouthfeel. THIS is a true session beer. If I were a monk, I’d drink the shit out of this beer.

On tap at WoB in JAX Beach. Hazy pale golden with a thin but durable head. AROMA: fruity and mildly yeasty with some light bread. Flavor: impressively complex for style. Good balance. Feel: near medium body with good carbonation.

From the stubby 11.2 fl. oz. bottle marked L14-570. In my area I can find the three flagship Chimay brews and I was pleased to find one from this brewery I had not had. Cloudy yellow pour with a lingering white fizzy head. The spices are evident along with the toasted Belgian malts and sugars and a bit of lemon zest. Light and refreshing body. Pleasant spicy and juicy fruit flavors. A nice distraction.

Bottle - pours cloudy orange with a lacy white head. Lots of Orange citrus some spice and some malt. Taste is fruity with moderate dryness. The palate is full and quite gassy.
