Pours slightly muted deep yellow color with an overflowing white head that settles as a thin blanket as I clean up the overflow on he table. Smells bright, peppery, hoppy, some fruitiness. Taste is Yeasty, some pepper and light fruitiness. The body is light and the carbonation is active. An interesting beer and quite drinkable. I will likely grab some whenever I can when I visit Belgium.

33 cl bottle as ”Chimay Dorée” @ hotel room, Bruges. Rated on 16.07.2010
Aroma has citrus and some orange peel. Flavour is refreshing with soapy citrus, some floral notes, hints of wheat and orange peel. Feels like a witbier. Would probably work with food.

33 cl bottle @ home as ”Chimay Dorée Goud.” Batch L14-386: BBE 2015
Aroma has soapy citrus and some apricot. Also hints of grassy hops. Palate is a bit too high on CO2. Flavour has soapy citrus, some grass, hints of apricot and spices like coriander. Clean and basic (light) Belgian blonde, feels even a bit watery on some sips. Also the palate tries to ruin the show here; using Chimay glass does not help at least with the first sips but it gets better at the middle of the glass.

Pours a light golden peach with sediment floating around. The head is super creamy white or off white. The nose has loads of sweet lemon and light zest. There is a nice peppery spice with some citrus and floral hops behind. Taste is much of the same, ripe lemon, not tart, light peppery spice balances with an assertive juicy citrus and floral hop finish with an accompanying bitterness. The body is light, soft, and creamy with a gentle carbonation and dry finish. very juicy, balanced, sessionable, and tasty.
