3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
bottle at the Kulminator pours light gold with a white head. Aroma is hoppy, but I think it has faded a bit. Flavor is light malt, hay and bitter hop finishing very dry with a light presence of spice in the background. Great light belgian ale.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz bottle, via sk8viking. Pours a clear amber body with a very minimal head. The nose is pretty weak, some cardboard, a little toasty malt, and a bit of yeast. Very little flavor, just a little bit of watered down caramel maltiness and dark fruits. Light bodied with moderate fizzy carbonation. Not a whole lot to praise about this one. Hard to believe with their other three beers being pretty decent that the monks would subject themselves to drinking this one all the time.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
2004 Bottle. BB 2007. A hazy golden ale with an extra thick off white head. In aroma, a good belgian hops attack, nice bready overtones, and cream. In mouth, a light crisp malt with nice cloves and honey, light hopping, very creamy mouthfeel, medium bodied. A good and surprising ale, tasted November 2006, in Belgium.

The bottle looks simple, but good. The beer in the glass also. Starts mild, a bit sourish and spicy. The finish is drier, a bit like dust. Average and nothing special!

Bottle @ KBF in Geel. Hazy light-amber colour, white head. Faint aroma of malts and flowers. Flavour is very soft and subtle, citrus, malts, bit of caramel. Slightly bitter finish. Just a bit thin. Lovely stuff.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: SEP 25, 2008 On tap at Auberge de Poteaupre as Chimay Spéciale Poteaupré. Served in a 25cl glass. It poured a hazy yellow colour with a small white head that settled down fast in the glass leaving a thin white head. It has a wheaty aroma. The flavour is slightly bitter and tastes of wheats, water and a hint of malt. It was served too cold. It has a short aftertaste.
