Clear, yellow/orange. White head, constantly reinforced by small bubbles. Aroma is yeast, citrus, sweet malt, cleaning product, ash (?), a little ripe banana. Makes me think of a tripel. Nice! Taste is quite balanced with a small sweetness and bitterness. Heavily carbonated, kind of watery on the palate.

Yeasty, but light. Light yellow color. Refreshing. Tasty. Citrus, hops, not strong.

Xavalias (187) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - FEB 27, 2015
33cl bottle from Irma, Vesterbrogade, Copenhagen. Pours hazy pale yellow with a huge fluffy head that persists and leaves a lot of lacing. The aroma has a lot of citrus, a bit of white sugar, hops, floral, a bit metallic too. The taste is dry with a mild acidity. The palate is borderline watery, and leaves a medium length sugary-sweet finish.

Chimay Dorée has a thin, off-white head, a murky, orange-gold (sort of pineapple juice) appearance, lots of powdery sediment, and fierce, tight bubble streams. The beer gets a lot cloudier, once the bottom caked sediment is swished and poured in. Aroma is of sweet, sugary bread and mild spices. Taste is of the same, with a noticeable balancing bitterness. Even alcohol seems to be in the flavor, here. Mouthfeel is medium and prickly from the carbonation, and Chimay Dorée finishes champagne-like and easy going. RJT

Somewhat typical Belgian. Rich and enjoyable as always. Too light though being so low on alc.

Bottle. Hazy yellow with a creamy white head. Aroma is fresh with some lemon/citrus and spices (cilantro?). Taste is fresh with some lemon/citrus, cilantro and faint bitterness. Medium body, low mineral water like carbonation, dry mouth feel. Short bitter after taste.
Hm...can’t really taste the usual Chimay here. Pretty much like a wit beer. Ok.

Pours gold with a good sized rocky white head. Aroma is citrus, yeast and hay. Taste is sweet with a crisp tartness. Medium bodied with smooth mouth feel. Crisp and clean finish, very refreshing.

Slightly hazy golden with a meringe white head. Aroma is coriander and some phenolic notes. Flavor is coriander with some yeasty phenolics and a doughy note. Medium to light mouthfeel. Nice belgian blond, but expeceted something somewhat more interesting or complex.
