Bottle Conditioned - 75 cl, and 33 cl bottles.
Ingredients: Pilsner malt (French barley from Champagne); wheat starch or flour (10% - 15%); dextrose (5%); malt extract (0.1%); hop extract from German Hallertaur (aroma) & American Galena (bittering) hops. Yeast & liquid invert sugar added to the bottled beer.
Chimay Red is noted for its coppery colour which makes it particularly attractive. Topped with a creamy head, it gives off a light, fruity apricot aroma produced by the fermentation. The taste perceived in the mouth is a balance confirming the fruity nuances noticed in the fragrance. Its taste, which imparts a silky sensation to the tongue, is made refreshing by a light touch of bitterness. To the palate, the taster perceives a pleasant astringency which complements the flavour qualities of this beer very harmoniously. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.

Bottle. Hazy light mahogany colour with a huge off-white head. Aroma has notes of citrus, fruit and spices. Full sweet taste with light bitterness and notes of fruit and spices. Medium body, very lively carbonation, and a long and lightly bitter finish. This is a very tasty dubbel with just the right amount of sweetness.

One of the best I’ve tried recently. Not too dry. Lots of aroma - perfect Belgian taste. A must!

Big off white head, drops quickly and clings to circumference of the glass. Hazy amber colour. Dried fruit, prune, fig, spice, brown sugar aroma. Matching flavours with dark fruit, beautiful malt and yeast esters. High carbonation. Med-light body, finishes dry with lingering light sweetness.

Pours a dark hazy amber body with a beige head. Delayed flavour bomb of sweet caramel and malt, and with a dry, almost coarse, yeast followup.

Lovely dark brown ale with close persistent foam. The scent is berries, caramel malt and light hop. Furthermore, it smells a little flower. The flavor is sweet and has a typical Belgian touch. Initially felt a little coffee, but it is sweet caramel that characterizes most. Soft fruit retains sweetness, but also impart a slightly sour tang until hops maintains a long finale. It’s a really beautiful dubbel.

Huge aroma of a sweet prune fig and red grapefruit. Taste of rich dark fruits and medium grain malts. Finishes very champagne like in the palate. Nice subtle sweet fruits in finish.
