Bottle Conditioned - 75 cl, and 33 cl bottles.
Ingredients: Pilsner malt (French barley from Champagne); wheat starch or flour (10% - 15%); dextrose (5%); malt extract (0.1%); hop extract from German Hallertaur (aroma) & American Galena (bittering) hops. Yeast & liquid invert sugar added to the bottled beer.
Chimay Red is noted for its coppery colour which makes it particularly attractive. Topped with a creamy head, it gives off a light, fruity apricot aroma produced by the fermentation. The taste perceived in the mouth is a balance confirming the fruity nuances noticed in the fragrance. Its taste, which imparts a silky sensation to the tongue, is made refreshing by a light touch of bitterness. To the palate, the taster perceives a pleasant astringency which complements the flavour qualities of this beer very harmoniously. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.

Bottle. Dark brown color with huge steady beige head. Aroma is pleasant, but light: fruits notes with bubblegum. Taste is lightly bitter, mild, easy to drink, medium carbonized. Finish is surprisingly short. Good beer.

A nude dubbel style beer. Pours a very cloudy, slightly muddy red with a soapy white head. Smells of apricots, banana and cloves. Tastehsd lots of banana and apricot and more fruit, with a creamy finish. Had in the bottle.

Beardbeerman (215) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 8, 2015
Pours an hazy amber topped by a finger of creamy head holding a little tan and showing pretty good retention and lacing properties. The nose is a bit too subtle with some almonds, apricot and milk chocolate. The taste puts the nutty matls center stage along the fruity apricot element. Foamy mouthfeel, the brew still brings it to town with a moderate sharpness and medium finish with the Hallertauer pushing the sweets aside. Simple and efficient is how I would bes resume this beer. Cheers!

Bottiglia da 0,33. Birra di grande personalità. Schiuma voluminosa che lascia spazio ad un sottile strato persistente. Colore scuro ambrato. Carbonatura importante forse un po eccessiva. Aroma complesso e lievemente fruttato. Gusto amarognolo finale deciso e secco. Consiglio 8/10

Greet beer. Dark amber coloured. The foam is thick and creamy. The most of the foam disappears, but a nice layer stays on top of the beer to massage your lips. A great beer, like all trappists.
