4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Hazy copper pour. Very active carbonation. Nose is welcoming. Taste is tart and crisp, reminiscent of apples and berries. A refreshing malty backbone with a hint of hops to finish.

From bottle the The Old Monk. Fresh apple, malt aroma. Malty, yeasty, fig, raisin taste. Creamy and heavy body. Minimal alcohol presence. Good carbonation. Long finish leaving the taste of old apples. Overall a flavorful beer. Unique malt taste.

Cor cobre com creme bege não persistente. Aroma de malte, passas, banana, toffe. Sabor com dulçor, baixo amargor, açúcar mascavo. Ao final, um calor alcoólico persiste na boca, baixo para médio amargor.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a 750ml bottle. Big malty, yeasty goodness. Dark stone fruits, prune, dried cherries, toffee, some floral notes. This is a great beer. I always forget how much I like it.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Excellent beer! Caramel, amber hue. Soft head. Fruity, sweet sensibility. Smooth was down. Brilliant and grand aftertaste. Unbashedly and unapologetically great brew! If you love your Belgian Ales like me this is a good starting and finishing point.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: a nice, deep burgundy body with an off white head. The head dropped by about half but remained constant throughput.
Smell: a sweet, almost burnt caramel smell. With a hint of fig.
Taste: enough fizz to hide the heavy alcohol content. A taste of sweet bread but quite malty and a bit bitter.
I had this from thr bottle and overall found it to be an incredibly enjoyable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Aroma has nut, malt and yeast.
Taste has malt, some banana, sour fermented fruit. Drinkable but pretty dull and rounded on the corners. Makes for a solid regular choice but nothing special.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: murky brown with a weird tan tint; highly opaque with tiny sediment particles floating every which way. Gray-tinted head sits thin atop the muddled beer. Aroma consists of caramel malts, licorice, dates, figs, warming phenols, and a touch of Candi sugar. Pretty standard aroma for a dubbel, but a little mild. Taste is right there with toasted malts, dark fruits, burnt sugar, grape flavors, slight medicinal notes in the finish with the phenol. Not that spicy, some sweet ester-y aftertastes. Decent dubbel, though far from my favorite.
