330ml bottle from Bierzwerg. Dark amber colour with large lasting head. Aroma is malt, fruits, sweet. Flavour is bread, sweet, caramel, yeast.

Bottle at De Paas. Clear red brown pour with off white head. Light ara of fruit and caramel. Flavour of malt, caramel and dark fruits.

Pours a hazy reddish copper with a lively frothy head which uniformly recedes. Aromas are light apricot fruits. Right of the taste is carbonated high, figs, apricots, caramel.bready, yeasty, wheaty, nice alcohol content. Good drinkability. Very tasty.

Ottima trappista che ha dalla sua un equilibrio ed una bevibilitá notevole. color marrone, al naso note fruttate si mescolano al profumo di malto tostato. Al palato é maltata di corpo medio, giustamente gassata, con finale amarognolo molto gradevole con note tostate e di frutta (prugna). Good!

Very smooth. Chimay is always consistent. Very drinkable and you drink the whole bottle before you realize it. I’ve had the blue label as well and haven’t been let down so far.

Opens with a nice fruity aroma and pours a deep rust red. Lots of sweet fruits and fizz in the palate, balanced with a light bitterness. Excellent.

malto tostato, con leggeri sentori di cioccolato; un leggero fruttato e lieviti e note alcoliche

inzio maltato, leggermente dolce, che lascia spazio a sentori tostati che ancora ricordano vagamente cioccolato e miele. Si passa per un fugace fruttato che si mescola subito con un amaricante finale e note alcoliche, con l’insorgere di toni speziati , piccanti soprattutto nel retrogusto

corpo medio, vellutata , buona carbonazione e alcohol percettibile e ben dosato.
[COMMENTO FINALE]
un classico e per questo spesso trattato spesso con differenza, cosinderando che occupa gli scaffali di quasi tutti i supermercati al fianco di birre più o meno industriali. Strong ale belga trappista equilibrata, di facile bevuta, con un tocco amaro che invoglia la bevuta. direi quasi semplice, lineare e per questo ben riuscitae godibile. potendo avere una cantina con tutti i crismi, sarebbe da lasciare riposare a lungo.. per vedere l’effetto che fa!!

+ mooi bruin met een soort van stroperige look.
- schuim ziet eruit als het schuim in de wasmachine, schuim is ook erg snel weg.
+/- friste citrus geur maar daarna overheerst helaas het muffe geurtje weer.
+ 1ste smaak - zoutig, moeilijk te devineren wat ik nou precies proef, 2de smaak - brandende alcohol, 3de smaak - ligt bitter op de achtertong, 4de smaak - bier blijft hangen achter in de mond, dikke schuim.
