COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle Conditioned - 75 cl, and 33 cl bottles.
Ingredients: Pilsner malt (French barley from Champagne); wheat starch or flour (10% - 15%); dextrose (5%); malt extract (0.1%); hop extract from German Hallertaur (aroma) & American Galena (bittering) hops. Yeast & liquid invert sugar added to the bottled beer.
Chimay Red is noted for its coppery colour which makes it particularly attractive. Topped with a creamy head, it gives off a light, fruity apricot aroma produced by the fermentation. The taste perceived in the mouth is a balance confirming the fruity nuances noticed in the fragrance. Its taste, which imparts a silky sensation to the tongue, is made refreshing by a light touch of bitterness. To the palate, the taster perceives a pleasant astringency which complements the flavour qualities of this beer very harmoniously. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.

Doftar intensivt av russin, frukter (mot apelsin och nektarin åt), sherry och karamell. Samma går igen i smakerna.

Big, spritzy and floral. Subdued Belgian yeast. Pleasant balance between astringency, acidity and bitterness.

Bottle to a tulip. Deep amber brown with foamy tan head and lacing. Belgian roasted malt, caramel sweetness and yeasty spice. Balanced, smooth, delicious. Top notch...

Pours with a nice cream head, aroma is nice with a apricot overtone. The copper color is pleasing. Mildly sweet with a slight bitterness at the finish. A great sipping beer before a meal.

On tap at Niks Wunderbar. Pours a cloudy red with thin head. Hint of dried fruits, figs, raisins. Dryness shines through as it warms. Not extremely complex but enough malt to balance the dry finish. Love it.

Bottle. Appearance- ruby/brown, quite dark, a bit murky. 1-2 finger off-white head which slowly settles down before disappearing. Aroma- yeasty, dark fruit hints, cherries, plum, a bit vinous, bready malts. Taste- lots of cherry, fruitcake, nutty hints, malty, medium mouthfeel, fairly short finish. More sweet than bitter. Very tasty.

Great. Nice bottle. Pour gentle otherwise too much foam. Great palate. Nice and bit complex taste. Enjoy it.

Nice light fruity aroma. Cloudy brown colour with no head. Very fruity melon flavour with smooth finish. Medium to heavy body with low carbonation.

Murky red-brown. Ample carbonation. Taste is very malty. Caramel, raisin, toffee and some light bittering hops to offset the sweetness. Very good Trappist ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
