Bottle Conditioned - 75 cl, and 33 cl bottles.
Ingredients: Pilsner malt (French barley from Champagne); wheat starch or flour (10% - 15%); dextrose (5%); malt extract (0.1%); hop extract from German Hallertaur (aroma) & American Galena (bittering) hops. Yeast & liquid invert sugar added to the bottled beer.
Chimay Red is noted for its coppery colour which makes it particularly attractive. Topped with a creamy head, it gives off a light, fruity apricot aroma produced by the fermentation. The taste perceived in the mouth is a balance confirming the fruity nuances noticed in the fragrance. Its taste, which imparts a silky sensation to the tongue, is made refreshing by a light touch of bitterness. To the palate, the taster perceives a pleasant astringency which complements the flavour qualities of this beer very harmoniously. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.

Chimay is an old classic that I've been drinking for 15+ years. It is still just as good as the first time! Bold but smooth. Great head and malty good. Chimay is the perfect belgian ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Butelka 0,33l. Nos – gruszka, suszona śliwka, lekka pieprzność, suszony banan, trochę miodowości. Smak – miąższ dojrzałej śliwki, karmel w stylu toffee, lekka owocowa kwaśność, delikatna goryczka chmielowa (ziemista). Znakomicie ułożone, wzorcowy belg.

A nice reddish brown translucent appearance with a thick foam that disappears quickly. Aroma is dominated by the yeast but has lovely notes of some spice, fruits and brown sugar. The taste is a bit one-dimensional but still extremely enjoyable, malts and caramel. Light bitterness in the aftertaste. Scarily easy to drink, will definitely buy again.

Pours a hazy copper-brown, very nice, stable two finger head. Has a yeasty aroma, traces of fruit, caramel malt. A mix in flavor of caramel toffee, dark fruit, something citrusy, definite yeast notes. Some finishing bitterness, a touch dry, slightly high carbonation.

Nice brown colour and tiny bubbles with small white head make this beer very good looking. Even the aroma and caramel sweetness make it good. But its taste is just awsome. Just enough bitter.

Gorgeous brew, deep hazy dark copper pour with ultimate off-white pillow of tiny bubbles. This is how I envision beer. Aroma is malty with some biscuit and caramel. Just a touch of candi sugar sweetness. Flavor is about the same. Probably I’m late in the game, but this is not as impressive as I’d hoped. Still looking for the best dubbel, but starting to believe this may not be my style as much as I love quads and some (completely different) trips.
