2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
75cl bottle, tasted blind in a flight of 8 dubbels(this turned out to be the second beer of the tasting). Reddish/brown color, bubbly head. Very carbonated, very thin & dry. Earthy(reminds me of seawater somehow) very muted aroma...maybe a little peppery. very dry, and a bit of roughness in the finish...body is almost non-existant...slight fruitiness shows up here and there, but this really lacks any redeeming character.

330ml bottle at home. Pours hazy dark brown, thin off white head. Aromas of plum, blackcurrant, mixed spice, Belgian yeast. Taste brings all these together wonderfully. Texture is creamy, finish is fruity and long. Great stuff.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
One of my favorite beers. Smells like a nice beer. Non homogenous appearance throughout. Darker in the middle. Taste is complex. Multiple tastes required to put words to this delicate beauty. Palate similarly complex. I found this beer in a 750 mL bottle at my local Costco. Good beer to give as a gift for sharing and celebration. Would really enjoy drinking this whole bottle in one sitting myself.

Bomber. Pours a reddish copper with a foamy amber head that lasts the whole time and laces. Aromas of malt, fruit, yeast and spice. Flavor is the same with a creamy lightly fizzy mouthfeel. Good balance.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
One of the best dubbels I have ever had. I can sum up all the typical dubbel flavours (since this is a pretty standard dubbel) but what matters is the balance in it. It’s great, no need to say more.
