3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
From an 11.2 oz bottle it pours a cloudy amber color with a 1+ inch bubbly head that dissipates over several minutes to a thin film on top of the liquid. It was a sudsy head with no lacing at all. Aroma is distinctly fruity, and it’s taste is medium sweet with no bitter at all. Medium body with a creamy texture and fizzy carbonation. Long mellow finish. A nice brew that would go well with a sandwich or other bread based snack / meal.

Cloudy mahogany. Huge frothy beige head. Bread and hazelnut in the nose, also a bit of butter and banana. Banana is highlighted in the taste. A bit of alcohol, bitter wraping the inherent sweet.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pas mauvaise mais la moins intéressante des chimay pour moi.
Corps assez puissant, très caramelisé. Fin plutôt forte dans une amertume très passagère.
La levure est très présente avec le sucre ce dont je ne raffole pas...

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma is sweet, malty, Belgian esters, toast, caramel, averagely complexed and averagely intensive. Apperance: dark amber color, nice foam - quite high, creamy, medium stiff. Taste: Belgian esters (dried peach and quince), sweet, little bit of balanced good quality alcohol, caramel, very low bitterness, overrated a little bit. Palate: medium body, medium carbonation, finish is a little bit bitter and also semi-sweet.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
6.5 year old bottle. Found during rotbox dive prior to big move. Pours a reddish copper brown hue. So little head an english shiremane would be proud. Aroma offers sweet figgy berry sherry. Twangy raisin and ripened plums. Bit of grape drank cough syrup. Attenuated enough to be reasonably drinkable. A bit oxidized. Lowish carbonation, but enough fizz for the style. Not a favorite style of mine, and from an old bottle stored in less than ideal conditions. Better than expected.

Avermelhada, espuma de boa formação e pouca retenção. Chocolate, frutas vermelhas, uva passa. Paladar transparece leve o álcool, chocolate. Corpo médio, baixa carbonatação. Aftertaste persistente, só achei que faltou um pouco de corpo, mas muito saborosa.
