Angeloregon (2024), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 29, 2008 750ml bottle from By the Bottle in Vancouver, WA--Poured a rich, ruby-chestnut body with a full beige head. Yeastiness, hoppiness, and sweet maltiness prevailed on this beer. Lots of aroma and fruity complexities. Effervescent mouthfeel, but not over the top. Gritty, full-bodied texture. Great hoppy profile. Spicy yet easy on the palate. I could drink this all day. Imperial-John (154), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Aug 28, 2008 750ml corked bottle. Dark murky amber with big foamy white head that thins to nothing quickly. Yeasty alcohol aroma. Bubbly, malty, dark fruit, mild taste. Poured an amber color with a three finger white head. Aroma of malt, caramel and fruit. Flavor was sweet malt and a bitterness at the end. Good beer. AndyReynolds (280), Wilder, Kentucky, USA Aug 27, 2008 Poured a amber color with a thick white head. The aroma is dark fruits, caramel, and malts. The taste was almost the same is the blue, just a little watered down in comparison. I enjoyed it. zvikar (414), Tel-Aviv, Israel Aug 24, 2008 Reddish Brown color, citrus floral lavender aroma with sweet notes, grape fruitiness with maple smooth flavour hints of some spice and nut.
Very nice beer EHopper (274), Minnesota, USA Aug 22, 2008 Drank with friends who had never tried this variety. They really appreciate its dark fruit, spice and malt flavor, commenting on how many different tastes were in one bottle. There of course are many beers quite a bit more complex and I will enjoy sharing these with them as well. Swalden28 (1442), McKinney, Texas, USA Aug 19, 2008 Bottle from Plano Beverage in Plano, TX.
Pours a hazy red with beige head, good retention. Has nice floral, malty, earthy aroma. Flavor has some citris with nice malt character, balanced bitter. Mouth feel seems like a belgium, soft and chaimpaign llike. Over all a very tasty brew....
