Thylacine (237), Tasmania, Australia Mar 27, 2008 Cloudy dark copper colour with a beige head. Not overly carbonated. Flavours of dark frut and slightly spicy. Well balanced. The alcohol content gives a pleasant warmth but is not overbearing. A lightly bitter and spicy finish. A very smooth and flavoursome beer but not quite as good as the blue. UnholyBrewing (448), Melbourne(Mulgrave), Australia Mar 26, 2008 ...overall, a great all around beer, with a good dose of alcohol. Nice flavor, with fruity apricot notes, as well as a nice color in the glass. Very well balanced, and always a great beer, like most Trappist beers, they know how to do it. Blom (390), Odense, Denmark Mar 26, 2008 Copper with a fluffy head. Fruity aroma of pineapple. The flavour is like a weak version of Chimay Bleu: toffee, yeast, caramel, plums and raisins. It has a somewhat weak mouthfeel, and lacks complexity. It’s not bad though. nate2g (1034), Brisbane, Australia Mar 26, 2008 Pours a mahogany colour with a beige head that lingers. Fruity aromas with notes of chocolate, caramel & spices. Palate is quite lively with a presence of fizziness, however the body is quite thin and not as complex as the other two Chimay’s. Still an enjoyable world-class dubbel. screwball (796), Motala, Sweden Mar 25, 2008 Bottle. Hazy red brown. Palate is big and bubbly. It´s peppry and malty fresh. Aroma has burnt sugar. Flavor is malty, yesty, sweet and warming. Bragesnak (2223), Aarhus, Denmark Mar 24, 2008 Fredagsbaren pĺ Biologi, Aarhus

Well hopped gabbama (115), Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, USA Mar 23, 2008 Nice bready and dark fruit aroma. I like the flavor of this one. Has notes of dark fruit, yeast, malt, and plenty of spice. Nice balance of sweetness and bitterness. Finishes crip. Overall, a pretty good abbey dubbel. WesKBob (317), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA Mar 23, 2008 Pours an opaque coppery brown with medium sized, foamy head. Aroma of tart fruit. A little bite on the back of the tongue. Flavors of bread, yeast, spice and just a hint of fruit sweetness. For some reason, the alcohol doesn’t seem to blend well with the flavor and seems to leave a taste all its own. A good "intro" to Belgians, but not the finest example.
