Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Draft at Mr. Dunderbaks. Poured a light amber color with a frothy off-white head. Nose is caramel, yeast, banana, spice and some phenols. Medium bodied, somewhat soft carbonation. Flavor is caramel malt with notes of fruit and spice with a mild bitterness. Finishes dry.

750 mL bottle. Hazy golden pour with a thick frothy head. Aroma of hops, pepper and yeast. Great taste of yeast, bananas, spices, bread with a slightly sharp bitter hoppy finish.

In my opinion Chimay’s finest. Soft complexity of flavours in the nose, and taste, wonderful aroma. No overwhelming alcohol. Aroma is citrusy, some orange peels. Taste is soft orange, a bit of barley. Great mouthfeel. Great marriage of everything. You can drink tihs forever, and it’s easily available. Great stuff.

Golden-orange colour with a fine fluffy white head. Mellow citrus aroma, with esters, spices and herbal hoppiness. Creamy, full mouthfeel with a slightly alcoholic and bitter, yet balanced finish. The flavour is dominated by maltiness and "burny" yeast (how do you describe that?). Really not impressive considering the flavour and the palate, this has too much of an average (or marginally above-average) strong wheat beer which I can’t appreciate.

New rating. Last bottle was off. Hazy light orange with a little redness and big white head. Aroma is clean, but with a hint of sourness. Flavor is bold, spicy, alcohol presence. Feel is smooth and warming.

This beer is as near to perfect as you can get for me. It looks beautiful, it has a lovely, small head that sticks around the whole time. It drinks awesomely.

From the 1 pt. 9.4 fl. oz. corked bottle marked L08-751. The pour is a cloudy copper-amber with a good topping of foamy off-white head and plenty of lacing. The aroma is a breathtaking yeasty, hoppy and bready scent that reminds me I am drinking an authentic Belgian Abbey Ale. The mouthfeel is a bolder texture and creamy on the tongue. The taste is just tart enough to notice but not enough to pucker up. A topnotch brew.

Hazy light copper with a large head showing some persistence and great lacing. Aroma is quite enticing, doughy yeast, white wine, light fruits (apple, pear, white grapes?) and just a hint of spicy phenols and sharp lemon. Flavour doesn’t follow through, more doughy yeast, sweet candi sugar and some spicy alcohol. Otherwise lacking in complexity. Nondescript bitterness makes for a finish not unlike most macro pale lagers. Too much carbonation (not a big deal, just let it sit for a while). Also there’s some slight astringency present.
