Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

On tap at the Ginger Man in NYC. Good Tripel, but with a strong Irish/Scotch whiskey character, almost as if it was aged in pre-used oak. Would be curious to try this in a bottle and see how it compared.

A hazy golden brew with a lot of yeast sediment with a small white head that doesn’t really stick around. Pretty weak aroma of grain/wheat/hay, a little musky. The skirt I’m drinking with says citrus, but I can’t tell. Flavor is similarly weak but there’s the usual belgian yeast spiciness, and some bitterness at the end. Not my favorite trappist, but if you’re looking for a light one this is it.

Bottle. Pured golden with a big white head. Aroma of wheat, orange, yeast, light spice. Taste is similar with some light hop coming through as well. Finish is a little dry and the mouth is very carbonated. Very easy drinking, excellent tripel.

Poured a golden hue that when settle had a sit head on top. Seemed to have a lot more carbonation then the red or blue labels. A somewhat strong bitter after taste, but was great going down with the slight flavor of fruit.

Sandy brown/orange with some suspended sediment. Bubbly fizzy head fell very quickly to a thin white head. Soft aroma of dry wheat and some orange. Golden raisin, very dry yeast character, firm hop astringency.

341ml bottle in trappist glass. Poured hazy orange with medium white head. Lots of carbonation on the glass. Aroma is malty, spicy and wheat. Small bitterness on the finish which may be the only downside. Rating #68

Very smooth with a bubbly mouthfeel and it looks fantastic with a large white head. Taste is not as complex as blue or even red, but it is still a great triple.
