Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Hazy golden color with aggressive bubbles. Really nice, thick and frothy white head. Spicy citrus aroma with lots of sweet fruit. Nice rich flavor of spices, citrus, tropical fruit finishing off with a pleasant grapefruit bitterness and a touch of alcohol.

Orange-gold pour with a big frothy white head. Aroma has lots of banana, and bubblegum ester. Some alcohol, coriander, pepper, honey and faint floral clover. Flavor is banana, soft clove and coriander, honey, and a slight floral and aqueous finish. Oily body with loads of carbonation but leaves a dry feeling in the mouth after swallowing.

Bottle from Marble in Chorlton. Hazy orange-amber colour with pleasant, lasting white head. Citrus-orange, yeasty aroma with a spicy apple background. Citrus again in flavour with dried fruits and pepper with a hoppy dry finish. The carbonation is ideal and makes this seem a great deal lighter than the ABV would suggest. A great beer but, for me, not quite up there with the blue or red.

too many at this point can’tremember what the head looked like. it does leave a few rings in the glass and i do enjoy this beer. i will pay to drink the beer again. milky caramel in color and similar saucy mouth feel. the after after taste reminds me of mamba soft chews. if the tasted like beer.

Bottle served in trappist goblet with a sizable, white head, slightly cloudy and golden. Cellar temp. Aroma of yeast and heavy, green apple: spicy too with some lemon zest, pineapple, pepper. There’s wonderful carbonation on the tongue and some nice lacing on the glass. The mouthfeel is not too thin. I taste apple and dried fruit, light raisin flavour with some terrific, subtle bitterness, grapefruit. The alcohol is very well masked, especially compared to its Westmalle cousin.

750 mL. Pours a cloudy bright gold with a giant, white head that quickly tones down. Lots of yeast, orange peel, spice, and dried fruit. Initial taste is very bubbly with lots of spice, yeast, and sweet candied fruits. Slight warming alcohol in the finish. Dry aftertaste like a white wine. 8% is well hidden. Excellent.
