pj1855 (154), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Oct 8, 2008 Pours a murky golden color. Good lacing. Aroma of light spice and bready malts. Intial flavor of spicy bready malts with a light alcohol finish. Not bad but I like the Westmalle triple better. durhambeer (1186), Durham, USA Oct 5, 2008 Bottle. Bubbly golden orange pour with white fizzy head. Spicy and sweet. Lots of yeast, some citrus, and a doughiness on the nose as well as some hops. Similar on the palate with some added apricot/peach and honey notes. Always a pleasure. Straling (185), Heerlen, Netherlands Oct 4, 2008 Bottle 33cl.
Pours a very CO2 active clear golden colour with a nice big head.
Very fresh lime smell with hints of spices.
Really inviting and refreshing beers, makes you want more and more.
Taste is clean hops and spices with a nice warm finish.
Goes down great. drjay44 (757), Salida, Colorado, USA Oct 2, 2008 750 ml. bottle. Pours a thick creamy head, with good retention, and wonderful lacing, color honey yellow....nose more pine, floral hops than anticipated, also slight malts, spice, and perhaps a bit of honey....initial taste is malty sweetness, then floral plus spice, coriander, cardamom and ginger primarily, finishing with a lingering hop bitterness. The floral fruity spice is less and the bitter hop finish greater than other triples I have tried, so it is somewhat different, but still well within the style. JonnyDr (132), , South Yorkshire, England Sep 30, 2008 Murky tan coloured beer with large, long lasting creamy head. Sweet malty aroma. Excellent carbonation. Dates, vanilla and malt leads to hops and an alcoholic and slightly bitter finish. Tasty but not worth its rating. JK54B (913), Helsinki, Finland Sep 29, 2008 White lacy head. Pale hazy golden colour. Mild typical yeasty nose. Soft malty taste. Some hoppiness athe end. A 0.33L bottle from Alko shop. jkaiser (219), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 28, 2008 Damn Good. Second beer I had at Beerfest in Orlando yesterday. Refreshing. Try it with breakfast. BeerBaron617 (306), Novi, Michigan, USA Sep 28, 2008 Well, I’ve said it before, but true european beers, with the exception of Samuel Smith, have just not been my cup of tea.(or beer!) Had this on tap at Ashley’s in Ann Arbor MI. It poured a golden amber, with a thin head. It’s not that it’s bad, it’s just not what I look for in really good beer. I’’ve had la fin du monde, and a beer called sapient trip ale, which are very similar to Chimay, and I thought they outdid the belgians at their own game!
