jkaiser (219), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 28, 2008 Damn Good. Second beer I had at Beerfest in Orlando yesterday. Refreshing. Try it with breakfast. BeerBaron617 (306), Novi, Michigan, USA Sep 28, 2008 Well, I’ve said it before, but true european beers, with the exception of Samuel Smith, have just not been my cup of tea.(or beer!) Had this on tap at Ashley’s in Ann Arbor MI. It poured a golden amber, with a thin head. It’s not that it’s bad, it’s just not what I look for in really good beer. I’’ve had la fin du monde, and a beer called sapient trip ale, which are very similar to Chimay, and I thought they outdid the belgians at their own game! zombywoof (355), Shawnee, Kansas, USA Sep 27, 2008 Lots of pumpkin-like spice, fruit floral notes and caramel in the nose. Banana, pumpkin, earth and smoke with peppery notes following up. Nice velvety finish. liinis (695), Helsinki, Finland Sep 27, 2008 Very rich and spicy, the strong flavor is a delight. fresh hops softened by the yeastiness. mgoy (343), Oak Brook, Illinois, USA Sep 25, 2008 Bottled in New York.
Chimay Blanche is a very nice Abbey Tripel. With a soft golden color and a nice white head, this is a very attractive brew. The aroma is light with notes of sweet fruit. The flavor is the same with a light, drinkable finish.
While I enjoyed this beer, I have come to expect a bit more from Chimay. I think i would still choose a Blue Moon in a casual setting. darkseduction (198), Zweibrücken, Germany Sep 25, 2008 Bottle 33cl. Blond cloudy brew with many floaties. Nice clear white stable foam. In the nose yeast, green hops, spices. Slim and elegant taste overall, alcoholic aftertaste is present but not overwhelming. Solid brew. jmm635 (250), Havertown, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 21, 2008 Updated: Oct 27, 2008Poured a hazy light gold color with a small white head. Nice aromas or yeast and hops. Flavor is mostly yeast and hops, but also citrusy and a variety of spices. Medium-bodied with a little bite on the tongue. Overall, very solid. stison42 (318), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA Sep 21, 2008 Cloudy orangish amber. Nice white head. Light fruity aroma. Slightly carbonated. Stays on the tongue. Mild to no taste. Hint of bananas and spices.
