AvidDirtman (25), , Japan Jul 9, 2008 Poured a lovely deep golden brown. Plenty of floaters promising something special. At first whiff i thought i’d mistakenly opened a bottle hoey. In fact, I’d go as far as saying this is a ’special brew’ version of said white beer (strong taste of alcohol - too much for my liking) . Lots of herbs (coriander of course), and oranges and lemons abound. Extremely fizzy; dancing on the tongue like raindrops bouncing off tarmac.
This is a kind of beer that gets better after you’ve already supped a few. There was a trace of freshly mown grass. Quite sharp on the finish and the alcohol gets more intense as you reach the bottom of the glass. A smattering of banana?
My least favourite of the Chimay range. amishcaravan (237), Winona, Minnesota, USA Jul 8, 2008 pours a light brown with lots of suspended sediment. sweet aroma with hints of yeast and some hops. taste is fruity with some spice notes as well. a very good tripel. i would purchase this again. IlanMan (816), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Jul 8, 2008 Pour was a hazy brown golden with a small but creamy white head. Aroma was strong with fruit, floral characters, and belgian yeast spices. Flavor was spice dominated with more floral characters and a sweet finish. Carbonation was average and smooth. Good brew. Would buy again. GG (1613), NorCal, California, USA Jul 5, 2008 My favorite Chimay to date. Not sure why I haven’t rated this before, but here it goes. The aroma is full of nice complexities like honey, apples, yeast, sweet malt and graham crackers. Medium carbonation with a huge, frothy seafoamy white head with some nice Belgian lacing. Flavors are yeast, light fruits, marshmallows, caramel, and spices. Very nice beer and perhaps Chimay’s best. SeanMacGC (233), Dublin, Ireland Jul 4, 2008 Though not to everyone’s taste, the discernible bitterness adds to the character of this particular tripel. The best looking of the Chimay beers, with a durably brillliant whiite head, and reassuring sediment clouding the last of the pour, Cinq Cents is a great beer. gwelch925 (31), Taylor Mill, Kentucky, USA Jul 4, 2008 Chimay Blanche pours a very cloudy golden color with a magnificent white head. The head does not lace and thins out after a couple drinks. To the nose the yeast is immediately present. As well as some spiciness and fruit, possibly grape or lemon. Your nose does not lie there is some bitterness, but overall Blanche is a very smooth and tasty brew. azlondon (656), Fribourg, Switzerland Jun 27, 2008 Updated: Jul 1, 2008As Chimay Blanche:

Spicey and fruity aroma, slightly sweet. Flavor is yeasty with a slightly mustiness on the front end. Middle reveals some banana, clove, apple and dried fruit. Finishes dry with lingering yeast. Pretty solid!
