nate2g (1034), Brisbane, Australia Mar 25, 2008 33cl bottle. Deep orange colour, thick white head. Initial aromas are floral & spicy. The orange rind flavour leaves a strong bitterness to the Blanche, a nice balance to the spicy and hoppy finish. IMO not quite on par with Orval but a still a nicely balanced ale. Nice bitterness bbrock81 (218), Le Mars, Iowa, USA Mar 24, 2008 Pours a cloudy gold with a lot of yeast floating in the beer and a big, foamy head. The aroma is of mild hops, not bitter, just lightly fruity and fresh, and some sweetness from the malt as well. Flavor follows the nose, mainly tasting fresh and fairly light. It is somewhat sweet, with a dry, hoppier finish. This beer is very subtle, with nothing ever being aggressive. Very nice. gam (1059), brisbane, Australia Mar 23, 2008 Orange yellow pour, carbonation strong, good head not thick but lasting.Aroma fruit, banana, orange, malt, sugar, flavour, syrup, velvet like, honey, creamy, citrus, orange, malt flavour, red chimay was good, blue also, now this chimay a very good trio.Finish creamy, malt, sweet and bitter, good. Oscbert (531), Sacramento, California, USA Mar 21, 2008 ~Pours a cloudy light orange colour with medium sized creamy white
head. Some residue floaters
~Smells nice. Like mild wet hops. Has some minimal fruity notes.
~A good roasted(?) bitter hop flavor. Nice balance of sweetness and bitterness.
~Feels light, but a bit chalky. Sticks inside my mouth. Feels dry.
~This is a good interesting beer. Diffefent than what I used to. Enjoyable. I like the bitterness. janir (215), Oulu, Finland Mar 19, 2008 Color is hazy, golden orange. Head is quite thick and lacing is nice and long lasting. Fruity and yeasty aroma is also dry. Taste is spicy, fruity, sour, yeasty with a hint of alcohol. Hops brings nice bitterness. Palate is medium and much carbonated. Foams quite much in mouth. kidmartinek (972), austin, Texas, USA Mar 19, 2008 Heavenly appeaance, translucent gold gradient, light to dark, bottom to top, 1/2 inch white head. Farm ale clean, wild yeast aroma. Just the slightest hint of being sour. The best aroma for a belgian that I’ve had, and I’ve had some. The flavor is well balanced between farm malt, candied apple, and yeast. Also a small amount of hop bitterness is detected. Clean, spring water-like finish. My favorite belgium thus far. Bier brauen (210), Bremerton, Washington, USA Mar 17, 2008 When I first pour it, I smell the bready yeast. It’s a hazy copper-gold color with pillow head like merange. Notes of fruit, and bitter hop and alcohol finish.
