Naka (524), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 28, 2008 Pours a hazy blond apple cider color. Small fizzy white head. Nose of bananas, clove, yeast, and just a whispering of alcohol. A great bitterness that is very light. Some yeasty bread flavors with a nice fruity layer. Leaves a pretty dry finish. I know everyone loves the blue, but the white is definitely my favorite. milewide (609), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Jan 27, 2008 Big head, and cloudy amber color. More bitter and less fruity than the Blue. Aftertaste is also a nice hop bitterness. latneyblunk (40), Kentucky, USA Jan 27, 2008 Fruity weizen aroma. Pours cloudy straw with a thin white head. Alcohol is quite noticeable, very bitter. Moderately dry finish that seems to coat the tongue with a stinging spicy bitterness. Not at all what I expected, more hop aroma and less alcohol would set this off. Has it’s weaknesses but overall a powerful beer. RedSox2004 (353), Pacific Palisades, California, USA Jan 27, 2008 Poured an 11.2 ounce bottle into a Chimay goblet. Hazy orange with an enormous head that could have been eaten with a fork. Left an intricate lacing all the way down.
Aromas of moderate citrus hoppiness, with some spices.
Hops were much more evident in the flavor, which included spices that were probably peppermint.
Full bodied with lively carbonation, very smooth and highly drinkable.
An excellent beer, I’m glad it’s readily available. hemisbeers (2), USA does not count Jan 27, 2008 poured into Chimay chalice dark golden hazy appearance. Beautiful delicate yet dense head. Instantly, the distinct aromas of fresh hops and yeast tantilize the senses. Velvety smooth texture in the mouth, making the palate want more. Citrus notes with plum and raisin combine with a somewhat dry aftertaste make each mouthful a delight. Harmonious balance. Belgian abbey ales are truly superior. tomer (365), Rishon Le Zion, Israel Jan 26, 2008 0/33l bottle. Big dense head, hazy orange colour, yeasty aroma with notes of vanila and mandarine. taste is extremly dry the with notes of vanila rose petals and mandarine. Aftertaste is long with a fresh lemony sourness. excellent balance. Tripplebrew (486), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Jan 25, 2008 Poured a very hazy honey-yellow with what looked like pulp. White head. Aroma is light but there are undertones of sugar and yeast. Flavor is definitely yeast with sugared lemon. Body is fairly light with just a bit of carbonation. Definitely a good tripel. swanmann (304), Norman, Oklahoma, USA Jan 25, 2008 The bottle poured murky color like unfiltered apple juice, with off white, slightly peach tinted head. Pretty complete lacing. The aroma is sweet and yeasty, like a syrupy citrus fruit, like a mango danish. Absolutely delicious. Dry with a bitter bite like aspirin. Great balance.
