Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Hazy golden color, white head, aroma of Belgian yeast and some spices. Very yeasty taste with some citrus notes and mild hop character. Medium palate that is befitting of the style...it is what it is...

24.01.2004, 0,33l Bottle. Fargen er lys gyllen og ølet er uklart. Ristet flasken litt før jeg drakk den slik at alt kom med. Tydelig preg av sitrus. Mye bitterhet gjør den litt skarp. Veldig god.

330 ml bottle. Hazy orange body with a huge, creamy off-white head. Aroma is fruity and spicy with some banana and caramel. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, fruity like oranges, spicy, yeast and a hint of dry fruit. Medium-plus body and a nice warming finish with a pleasant bitterness. A complex beer and among the finest samples of triple.

Absolutely fantastic tripel! Best of it’s style i’ve had. I got it on tap from the Yardhouse in Phoenix. the aroma was difficult to distinguish considering the setting, but it was definitely yeast and raisin, and perhaps a bit more. Taste was nice and spicy, with hops, and some cinnamon. Mouthfeel was smooth and creamy. I’ll go back for more and more.

Bottle at the Garrison Ale House in Fredericton. A: The bottle was brought to me, and then poured into a tulip glass by my server... noooo!! It was all poured into the glass, at an angle the whole time, in one pour, resulting in barely any head, and no opportunity for swirling the last of the beer. Crap. So, obviously the appearance has been affected. However, the beer was still a nice, dark orange color, and very hazy. S: Great aroma of yeast and fruitiness... some citrus and maybe banana as well? Very enjoyable. T: Very nice taste... starts off with the yeastiness, then the citrus notes come creeping in. Very slight presence of alcohol at the end, with the warming sensation, but it’s all good. M: Nice and smooth on the palate, slightly creamy. Good carbonation, not overwhelming at all. D: Another fantastic tripel... I’d love to try it again, if only so I could get a proper pour, but I have no doubt I would enjoy it at least as much. A great sipping beer.

Rich amber colour, fluffy white head. heavy, dense, lots of sediment. Very well balanced, very bright, medium bitter. Notes of peaches.

Pours a bright gold with a big, dense, off-white head. Lots of sparkly citrus in this one - esters are hugely present, with a big hop contingent, Belgian yeast and a tiny bit of candi sugar. Definitely hop-forward for a tripel. Nice and dry, great effervescence, really smooth for something this sparkly. Just a tad heavy on the starchy aspects - the yeast really plays a part in here - but really nice other than that.

Had this at the Yardhouse. Very aromatic triple. Lots of yeast and fruit on the nose. Loved how this one tasted of fruits and bread dough. Very good.
