joebudzjoe (222), Connecticut, USA Jul 17, 2009 Tap. This beer didn’t live up to the hype, but w.o concern of price, this is a good beer. Aromas of pound cake, banana, clove, wheat pair with the taste. Not too overwhelming though, and I bet there are way better tripels out there. SuIIy (1406), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA Jul 15, 2009 draft at Public House 7/15/09. Pours a crisp but cloudy golden orange color with a fluffy white head. Nose is yeasty and musty with some light fruit notes of apricots and peaches. Palate is full with light carbonation. Flavors of light must and fruit like the apricots and peaches noted above. zdk (187), New York, USA Jul 12, 2009 Tap at Bier Circus (Brussels). Nice light body, with cinnamon maybe ginger overtones. A great, spicy beer that defines the style. f351c4v (404), Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 10, 2009 Amazingly, I haven’t rated any of the offerings from Chimay... Bottled; pours a cloudy golden color with a small white head. Well hopped aroma, fresh baked bread, ground coriander, and sweet honey. Well carbonated body reveals a nutty, yeasty brew. Roasted biscuit malts give way to a bitter, hoppy finish. I have avoided this beer over the past 10 years, as it was my least favorite beer from Chimay. Times and tastes have changed; this is a world class beer. Still not a fan of the kegged version, however. gunnar (486), Sandnes, Norway Jul 9, 2009 Bottle. Pours cloudy golden with a big creamy head. Tangerine aroma. Strong spicy taste, nice hops as well makes this a fabolous beer. Dry finish mazfln (83), Florianópolis, Brazil, Brazil Jul 8, 2009 Darker than other tripels. Strong aroma, with more hops than usual.
Tastes strong, with alcohol and esters and hops. Bitter. I used to like it more, and I think its too agressive comparing to other tripels. lowgun1212 (75), Montclair, New Jersey, USA Jul 7, 2009 murky cider color with stable head and good lacing. a - tangerines & tonic, white pepper & wet hay. t - a light but looooong hop. some ginger, some cotton candy, more pepper and gin? mf - creamy but light. dalek123 (103), Houston, Texas, USA Jul 6, 2009 Served chilled. Pours cloudy golden with large white head. Taste is spicy with notes of fruit and hop. Alcohol taste is present but not overpowering. Hop taste in the finish. This is very well balanced. A delightful experience to be savored.
