Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Pours a cloudy honey colour, hoppy cum honey aroma with fruits. Large head. A fruity-alcohol initial flavour with a hint of bitterness. Nice beer, I have a feeling it could cause serious drunkedness!

Dark golden orange color with floating yeast. Tastes of complex fruit and bread with some caramel notes. Alcohol finish and not much bitterness. Good belguim, not as good as blue.

Sandy brown/orange with some suspended sediment. Bubbly fizzy head fell very quickly to a thin white head. Soft aroma of dry wheat and some orange. Golden raisin, very dry yeast character, firm hop astringency.

RE-RATE: Had this on tap at Monk’s. Still quite good. Has a little extra silkiness to on tap. Original: An excellent beer. I’ve been so keen on trying others that I haven’t had this since RateBeer started. Full bodied enough, but just a little ’light’ as compared to some other of this type. As for tripels, I prefer the Allagash or Duvel.

Huge sudsy light khaki head on a cloudy burnt-orange body. The layer of fine bubbles lasts and last, slowly settling into a skim that coats the lips with each sip, all the way to the end of the glass. A rising bread aroma, with peppery, spritzy notes. Dry, spicy and warming, with a bit of lemon flavor. Very clean and bright. Amazingly etherial texture. So soft on the palate, it’s like sipping a cloud. Maybe a cloud that formed on a warm spring day over a stream full of watercress.

Golden-orange body with considerable carbonation and a massive frothy white head. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, nice. Fruity, yeasty with a slight peppery flavor also. Has a noticable acidity too. Alcohol is evident in the dry finish.

(330cl bottle in Chimay chalice) Hazy orange with small head. A whiff of banana in the aroma. Flavor is yeasty, somewhat sweet and fruity. Aftertaste only mildly bitter.
