Commercial Description:
Chimay Blanche (White), with its typical golden colour, its slightly hazy appearance and its fine head is especially characterised by its aroma which results from an agreeable combination of fresh hops and yeast. The beer's flavour, as sensed in the mouth, comes from the smell of hops: above all it is the fruity notes of muscat and raisins that give this beer a particularly attractive aroma. The aroma complements the touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.
Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat starch, sugar, hop extract and yeast. See Protz and John White

Light colored belgian ale. Nice flavor, but lacks extra flavor of the Bleu.

The middle Chimay, just the right amount of alcohol with a complex fruit taste.

Thick creamy head that lasts longer than the beer. Malty aroma. Dryest of the Chimays with a slight hop bitterness but with the unmistakable Chimay taste. Excellent beer.

Bonus. Drunk this baby a number of times.. never realised that we hadn’t rated this lover. Orangey, honey, smokey Tequila pepperpinch (eh wtf?). Like the 750ml bottles.... Nice. But don’t drink through your nose. Well you have to get up close to get the full aroma..... ’The Palate, she doesn’t linger too long and when she’s gone she leaves her shoes at the door.’ Don’t care..gonna drink it again and will re-rate it again. again.

Darker than a normal blonde ale and the head lasts for ever. The aroma and flavour are more akin to an English ale with citric undertones. Thoroughly drinkable, one of the best Belgium ales you will drink.

a firm, creamy, long-lasting head. Strong aroma of hops and citrus. Also hops and citrus in the dry taste, combined with a slight tartness. Long hopbitter finish. A real, complex, trappist ale, maltier and easier to drink than Orval and Westmalle tripel. Re-rate from tap, Café de Nieuwe Roos Ootmarsum: I’ve boosted the rating from 3.8 to 4.3. Sweeter than the bottled version, almost honeyish, but with the raw hoppiness and the long lingering hoppy finish. Maybe the bottled version is a bit more complex, but the tap version has a much more appealing taste.
